Welcome Jacob Koschitzke

Hard to judge when he isn't playing next to Lynch. He was never recruited to be a number one option.

Yep I agree, some ridiculous over reactions in here as usual. Kosi was no worse than Balta and had a much tougher opponent. Let’s give him half a chance before we stamp his papers.

He has had plenty of time to show what we can expect.

Looks likely to be selected but even in the absence of Nank and Tom Lynch, don’t see that he has done enough.
Lefau the better prospect..

Plenty of time ? 1 official practice match against Darcy Moore, I hope you are willing to judge Balta just as harshly ?

Not sure you're the most open minded person in this debate. You've not agreed with having him in the Round 0 22 since he was recruited.
Exposed form across a match sim and one practice match isn't going to make or break the point of his recruitment. They'll give him a couple of
weeks I think to actually settle in to the team structure in live games, particularly whilst Lynch gets match fit I think.

Give Kosi a go to see what he can do.
He hasn’t even played 1 game for us and some have already written him off

I can see the point. He was recruited as insurance and now we are cashing in.
Far from sure that even now he is the best option, but agree that his selection seems likely.

You speak of a couple of weeks. Balta Lynch and Koschitzke mmm.
Hope you are wrong on that one!

I think he'll get an opportunity to prove himself this week. Whether he remains in the forward 50m when Lynch returns is another matter. He'll know this & will be keen to show his stuff. Fingers crossed he plays well. We need him to.

What are people expecting for a player traded to us for pick #49 ?

So long as he kicks 1-2 goals and is competitive then he has done his job

Im thinking he kicks 35-40 goals if played all games

He ain’t kicking 35-40 goals. Never kicked more than 27 goals in a season, career average of 1.1 goals per game.

If he can kick 25 goals, that would be a good result.

I don't think Lynch will play full minutes in his first game. I'd bring him back slowly. Too valuable to our season. I'm not expecting Kosi to kick bags. He might once or twice a season, but I see his role as trying to provide a contest along the wings leading up and creating space behind him for Lynch or Balta to run into.
He needs to hit packs and bring it to ground, and probably pinch hit in the ruck every now and then.
He's not a Lynch replacement, but a compliment to the structure I feel.

I'd have said 25-30 is a good return, especially with Balta and Lynch in there too. 35 would be very unexpected.

Why wouldn't he kick 35 goals? He's only played 3 seasons and the 27 goals were in his first year, so it's not completely out of the question.

It's not like people are claiming that he'll kick 70.

It’s interesting Kositschke average goals per game has gone from 1.4 (‘21) to 1.1 (‘22) to 0.8 (‘23) so if he continues this trend he’ll average half a goal a game in ‘24!

I reckon if he plays 20+ games as a forward he’ll kick 25-30.
