Team v Gold Coast

I hope so, he didn't do much in the preseason
He showed a bit when he went into the middle in the VFL game. Will be a bigger challenge in the AFL but this is the season to see what he is capable of.
A Rioli in the midfield is nothing to sneeze at. We won’t want to die wondering.

Cumberland the biggest surprise. Can’t see Ryan playing especially in these conditions. Expect Cumbo to wind up wearing the vest.
Really? I like the kid but he didn’t start either of the practice matches and reports from preseason were underwhelming. I don’t think it should be a surprise to anyone.

Well, back in the early 80s, who would have ever dreamed up that one day

We'd all be reading the team on thursday night,

On our telephone,

And whinging about selecting

Maurice Rioli?

Truth really does demolish fiction for weirdness.

Just shows; anything is possible if you want it bad enough.

Dear Footy/scientific Gods, please let humans breath pure c02 and evolve asbestos skin and gills and truth detectors and endure and let D.martin jr quicken our hearts, when teams enter the vascularity on our wings, at rejuvo hour, in 2047
And playing Round 0 on the Gold Coast.
Who would have thought!!

Team selection has the same feel about it. Is Livingston head of the team selection committee?

I think supporters are being a little unfair on Maurice. To suggest he is very limited is incorrect. He is a little nervous from expectations and plays nervous hence the little mistakes. He will get it together at some stage and will become a great player. We just need to be a little more patient....
Obviously you haven’t watched him kick
Keeps falling over which is a major concern
Doesn’t read the game well at all
Gets where the ball aint
Surely Steely Green would have been a better option

Agree. This selection is the definition of madness. We keep doing it & keep getting the same result.

Not sure what other options we really have.

Nank, Martin, Lynch and Graham all would have been playing if fit.

We have debuted a kid and playing 2 other players from other clubs.

I get the MRJ debate. I would have preferred Lefau but he is seen at this stage more as KPP.

I don’t get the Cumberland outcry. He has had a poor period after Christmas. He has been overlooked by 3 coaches. He has the talent but the issues are all above the shoulder.

I will be more interested to see how we go selection wise post this game with potentially 3 big names coming back into the team.

Wish I had a $ for every anti MRioli post from you Stig. You don’t rate him, we get it.

If I think back to the last time we played the suns the biggest issue was how easily they transitioned out of our forward 50. That has to be one of the key roles for MoJu tomorrow, make that exit much harder.

You are absolutely making sh1t up
Making it up, you haven't seen the video we're he has admitted openly things he needs to work on ?.

It's not by luck now that now 3 coaches have ignored his talent for certain reasons. Ask yourself why . I think you're making the bs up.

Buckle up folks, we are in for some losses

Would love to see Naismith and MRJ kick some ass

Agree on Cumberland. I put him in my 22 at some stage, because I liked the idea of another goal kicker up forward, not because i think he necessarily deserved a spot.

Yeah we might be.

Apart from anything else I think it will take some time for Yze to find the right team. I’ve always felt that we would be better in the 2nd half of the year than the 1st.

Even the two most successful first year coaches in recent times in McCrae and Kingsley had struggling teams early. The giants were 3-6, maybe even 3-7.
