Game Day - Tigers V Blues

ok... felt like 8-0

it was 6-0, then when blues in control, they gave us a few.

shame moral victories dont come with points

Campbell ever present in the close finish.

Wasn't given a point. Incorrect disposal
Why was there a score review then? How can you review a hypothetical score that hypothetically happened after a HTB?

If they were checking to see if the ball touched his boot to see if it was HTB, then weren’t they technically reviewing an umpiring decision?

The hypothetical goal happened after the umpire was obliged to make the decision on his own, so therefore it’s moot. The umpire has to decide if it hit his boot so he can make his HTB decision.

Blues clearly wanted a stoppage at the end, 3 Carlton players dive on the ball.

We were smart enough to stay out, but that gutless cheat Leigh Fisher wouldn't call it.

He waited till Bakes stupidly fell on the ball so he could call his 'safe' ball up.

Putrid umpiring. As usual
There was no way known that they’d pay a free kick to us in our forward line in the last minute. Goes against everything they stand for

Have a look at Dow’s kick into our forward line at the end. Kicked it to two Carlton players instead of trying to hit up a target or kick it to our advantage. Poor.

Seth Campbell kept running and getting involved till the death, very impressive for a second gamer, no bench, 80K crowd and a kick in it.

So not only was the De Koning 50 a joke of a call but apparently he was taken 57 metres instead of 50 just convenient enough to make sure he has an easy kick for a goal. In a game that was decided by under a goal. Absolute robbery and corruption

Can't be disappointed with that, other than the feeling we could have won it.

The *smile* AFL engineered 5-day break.

Utterly foreseeable Prestia hamstring*.

But to get that close is impressive. Without Prestia, Gibcus (**smile** me) Young and an under-done Lynch. Amazing. Hopper is starting to hit his straps. Balta is exactly the player I've always thought he was. Bloke is a beast.

MJR and Bolton are players you can afford in a top 5 side. They are over-the-odds in a rebuilding side, IMO. Happy to be proved wrong on MJR, I live his chase downs but he doesn't give enough in the forward line. Bolton will produce a nice highlight reel again but will he break a game open? Who knows?

*I can't believe he's trying to get a new contract. His hammies are *smile*.
MRJ has averaged 5.5 disposals (4.5 effective) in his 2 games now. 2.5 score involvements. Look he gets a couple of good defensive pressure moves a quarter but you just can't cover that lack of offensive ability and lack of awareness. Nothing's changed this year from last year. End of year 22 I thought if he could improve another 20% on his form then he'd be a valuable bottom 6 or 8 but he's just not skilled enough. On the positive he just kicked his first goal in 11 games. There's young forward talent showing great signs at VFL level. Get them in. Give Cumbo the opportunities MRJ is getting, he's just a much more complete player.

Worth reading the report on AFL pages. If u did not know the score u we'd think Blues won by ten goals or should have as they were just wond3rful and we were average..

Classic richmond ump move, 50 barely there, then he gets a 60!

It didn't look like any of our players were trying to tackle. What decision did you expect to be given?

prominent as *smile* late

He should give Ryan Mansell a composure class this week

*smile* Balta was like Anthony Koutifedes tonight

Injuries, fatigue and crap umpires cost us. Not sure Carlton are going to win a flag anytime soon. Rely on two talls up forward and their bottom 6 are average.

After the mess on the Gold Coast last week (I went), we looked better - won clearance and contested ball - that’s what we are.

Dusty is still Dusty and Lynch is still Lynch and will be for a while longer yet. Bolton could be the best player in the league with better disposal. Balta becoming a superstar too - just needs to get rid of the brain fades. Campbell impressive too - we’ve so found a player.

Gibcus is a huge blow - for him & the team. Think we can cover Young (Miller looks so much better at VFL level as a key back) & Sonsie will get a decent run with Prestia out.

Couldn’t fault effort and endeavour. From what I saw of Judson Clarke today at VFL level, I reckon he comes in for Maurice Jnr.
