Apparently all just a mistake and we have to respect her.

As *smile* as those numbers are they're the best we've seen in quite a while; particularly new cases. I don't think we've had a single figure number for deaths in a while either.
Are we heading in the right direction?
Time will tell but a good sign today.
Just as an aside, I just added today's number, will correct the numbers for amendments when the DHHS put them out usually late in the afternoon and then just add each day as it is announced.
The Stage 4 restrictions should be starting to have some impact but the main impact should come maybe later this week and next week so this is a good sign.

I hope I am wrong Ridley but I am not sure we can read too much into the deaths yet. We still have the effect of the aged care issues around and it's probably too early for the takeover of some of these private residential aged care places by public hospitals to be fully in the numbers
i heard that we may well see a reduction in infections and increase in deaths for a while which has been true before today so hopefully that has peaked.
I haven't seen the hospitalisation and ICU cases in the last few days and they will probably tell that story
We definitely appear to be in a nice downtrend. Another significant decrease in active cases outside of aged care and healthcare workers. The largest we have seen so far at 161 reduction.

Not sure of validity, but i was sent something on Facebook, to the effect that the aged care deaths were being mis-reported so as to ensure greater subsidies, or benefits to centres that recorded a covid related death:

Hospitalisations still continuing to grow. Only 2 though from the stats from yesterday. Decrease of 6 in ICU which is good news. We have seen these drops before, but then over a few days they have increased again, so we will need to wait and see if this is a timing issue or is the start of a reduction in those in ICU.
I (like you) feel the decline in the death number today may only be a blip. We shall see but there are still a heck of a lot of active cases linked to aged care so I suspect that deaths may remain at a higher level for a fair amount of time yet unfortunately.

This is an attempt to downplay the significance of some PPE deficiencies and perhaps to downplay the actual effectiveness or otherwise of PPE and distancing. ...in my opinion only.

They would need compliant doctors who issue the death certificate which if found out would be reported to AHPRA who regulates medical practitioners. I’d be pretty sceptical on that one, the risk/ reward to a doctor would be questionable at best.
Absolutely and thats why I've excluded them and I totally agree with what you are saying.
Make of this what you will but below are the movements since they started reporting them (which by the way they started reporting aged care numbers and healthcare workers on the same day, coincidence or an indication that they are linked?). I'm surprised we are being told they aren't linked, check out the growth rates since they started reporting the data.

I am sure there's no way of knowing this but it would be of interest to know the split in health care workers of. .aged care v hospital care.
Either way it strongly suggests PPE etc is not very effective in close contact care.
I suspect this info is kept hidden.
