A-League threads [Merged]

What I am hearing through the grapevine this morning is that the perpetrators were former fans on lifetime bans who found a way to sneak in.... And the pitch invasion was premeditated.

But again, this is nothing official, just murmurings on the socials.
I'll mention the word 'security' once again. Look like a bunch of lazy a-holes that just want their pay for the day.

Victory fans have alway's been arrogant, selfish, disrespectful, you name it, march to games blocking up Punt Road and Swan Street in the past requiring police escorts, but this is another kettle of fish  .
Words fail!
Yep. Bigger than the game. Making demands that have nothing to do with enhancing the sport or the game for everyone, simply wanting to indulge themselves. The words toxic masculinity spring to mind. How many females involved in the active supporter group?

Supporters? Of what? Not the sport that's for sure.

All I've ever read about security from the active support group is they are victims of being over-policed. Wonder why?

But it's inevitable that this will be spun by that group that its just a rogue few that were out of control.

Let's hope the club ceases to cede to the demands of these arse clowns.

Worst thing is they'll likely end up somewhere else spoiling the game for some other club.

The above reply by this stupid active group is pathetic.

Interesting to see what the league and victory do.

It's obvious these groups can't police themselves so banning of flares, stripping of points and future victory games behind closed doors is just a starting point.

Also getting rid of these stupid groups but not sure how you do that. Perhaps by not adhering to any requests they have and the club distancing themselves from anything to do with them.

the sport really is screwed in this country.

Yep that was a pathetic response.

No apologies to the league, the club, the other peaceful supporters around the country that did the right thing, and most importantly no apology to Glover or King, but then they see Glover as the incitor in all of this, so why apologise to him. He threw a flare at us, "but you threw it at him", ummmmmmm, yeah but he threw it back.

Its yob culture and if this is an official group (I don't know who OSM are), then I feel sorry for the entire A League.

If I was any of the other parties you mention here, I’d be refusing to accept that *smile* poor apology, Mr P.

Not at all excusing or justifying the attack, but it was pretty stupid to throw the flare back into the crowd, and dangerous. And brave, or stupid, to then just stand there when the thugs ran onto the pitch at him.
I dont really get the 'hate' this post has elicited. Does anyone think Glover did the right thing throwing the flare back into the crowd?

It is possible to think he did the wrong thing while at the same time wanting those who violently invaded the pitch to be held completely responsible for their actions.

Looks the like A League has already taken swift action. Western United and Western Sydney are playing behind closed doors. Well that’s what I think because the stadium is empty. :ROFLMAO:

Glover just had a flare thrown in his vicinity. Think his action in getting the flare both off the ground and out of his vicinity was justified.

If he meant to throw the flare into the crowd, do you think when the fans started invading the pitch he would just stand there and watch it, or leg it towards the changerooms?

Its pretty clear IMO that he was just trying to get the flare off the pitch so as not to stop the game and threw it towards security so they could extinguish it in the bucket that soon became the weapon to hit him.

It wasn't the best throw but I don't think there was any intent to throw it into the crowd.

As I drove up Swan st from the London the stream of Victory fans didn’t appreciate my car (bright yellow) with Richmond rego plates. They boo’d and sledged me. “*smile* team mate, carn the Blues”. Nuff said.
