The skill level and the pressure and the teamwork have improved out of sight.

Well done girls, some genuine stars in that team.

I just can't get over how horrendous the umpiring is. Its just a lottery.

Players and clubs improve, why can't umpires?

Down 21-35 for inside 50s is a bit of a concern considering we had the first 8 or so.

That was a highly contested game, no player had time with the ball, it wasn't even a case you snooze you lose all players were just under pressure straight away. Conti was mugged today but fairly I thought which required a lot of discipline by Nth.
Finals type pressure so should stand the girls in good stead.
No injuries and Sarah Hosking will be back.
Brisbane a nigh impossible task up there but.

Yeah will be hard against them, but good to have 2nd chance against Pussies or lolnorf at OUR ground.

Great year for the girls, a heap of improvement.

We can have a crack like the men did in 2017 - there is daylight between Lions/Dee's and the next best teams but we won't die wondering.

Agree, massive improvement from the girls this year. Our 1st final we will be massive underdogs, its a huge free hit for us.
10 games played, 7 wins, 1 draw, a loss in the last minute vs the Cats (5th) when the umps made 3 crucial errors for the same incident, then leading for most of the game in the other loss vs Adelaide (3rd).

For sure. Really crack-in.

Brissie and then North or Geel if we lose Hope they keep on surprising but straight sets is a possibility.

Wow that was tense.

We should have been further ahead at half time, North should have kicked more goals in the 3rd quarter, so a draw seems reasonable and gets the job done.

Top 4 is an amazing effort from where we were last season, which is not long ago. Huge improvement.

We do seem to get exposed against really tall teams and the marking seems to have dropped off a bit. They were clunking marks better a few weeks ago, maybe the pressure is leading to fumbling but we need to work on that.

Watching the first few minutes of the Adelaide v Brisbane game a couple of weeks ago the skill levels they showed were much better than what we show. But, we can scrap which seems to work quite well.

Huge task ahead against Brisbane up there in a final, but, hey, double chance. Would love to see them get to a prelim Final.

The umpiring is so inconsistent it is just not funny. I was at the North-West end and in the last quarter a Richmond player was tackled as she tried to kick the ball, she missed and was pinged for incorrect disposal. Ok, it can be a bit of a toss up in that situation. Less than 5 minutes later identical situation, North player tackled while disposing of the ball attempts to kick and misses . . . free kick like the previous one? No way, ball up. Can they just adjudicate the same rule the same way most of the time? FFS it is just a lottery. What was with the frees in the last quarter? North got at least 5 and we got either 1 or none, every free seemed to go their way for the whole quarter, it was farcical what they were getting and we couldn't buy a free.

Interesting to go the Arden St for the first time in maybe 40 years. The old stands have gone and a fair bit of the ground you couldn't walk around. So, movement is a bit limited. Crappy ground but it always was really. But why do they only have 1 entrance? Plus, that entrance was near the section you couldn't walk around. So, to get to the goals at the other end you need to walk all the way around. Bloody stupid, they needed 2 entrances, wouldn't have been that hard, just an entrance in the temporary fence. What an amateur effort, another entrance on Macauley Rd, would that have really been too hard?

You know the women's game is starting to make it when the whinging about umpiring starts to approach the men's threads! :ROFLMAO:
Leopards are leopards. It's good they let play go on given the way the girls fumble a lot, but some decisions were ridiculous, both ways.

We got a 50m early that lead to a goal. I think for not throwing the ball back. Was quite technical. Massive penalty in womens game when you can have only four or five goals kicked.

The holding the ball decisions were perplexing. We had some obvious ones against us that were correct but felt NM got away with fend offs then being tackled for htb on multiple occasions. A little less clear cut than some of the others and maybe the ump was blindsided but didn’t like it.
