Changes V GC

Graham is there to sit on Greenwood. OK move. When you lose center clearances by about 20 you need to do something.

no doubt Graham hasn’t been at his best, maybe the constant injuries have taken a toll on him mentally, however I definitly prefer him in the 22, he is the only mid we have that basically plays just a defensive role, Kmac is a bit that way too. Can’t have Dusty, and Bolton playing the way they do without having other mids keeping an eye on the opposition .

hope he Oleg go well, could be last chance for both this season and possibly at Punt rd

correct. I remember Graham being dropped for the rd 12 - 2018 Port game and we got smashed in the clearances and Dimma admitted after the game it was the wrong decision to drop Graham.

IMO a big factor for our 2020 flag chances is denying the opposition easy and effective clearances out of the centre and around the ground, and Graham is a key component for this. Don't worry about his disposal numbers - these are not key indicators to our success.

need to put him in the Center. He was a in and under player in his junior days.
Let’s see if he can take the human meatballs role.

The port game showed us how important it is to nullify centre clearances. If we don't get smashed in centre clearances, we'll win most times than not. A fit graham turns opposition clearances into dirty clearances where we mop up and transition.

Agree on Graham. The problem he was having was not only was he not getting the ball a lot but his renowned pressure had waned (maybe not 100% confident in his shoulder). Hopefully, being dropped will reignite what we know he can do. I was happy to hear Clarke say in Graham's scratch game that he went from contest to contest = hard running, so once I heard that had a sneaky suspicion he'd be in. Graham and Cotchin add much-needed hardness in the center.

What do the stats predict the margin will be for such a huge age/games discrepancy?

I don't do margin predictions, but these are the results from the last 20 years for +2.32 to +2.42 (Richmond +2.37 tonight).

Results are 32-16, with an average winning margin of 47 and average losing margin of 34.
