Coronavirus grand final.

The AFLPA will be making plenty of phone calls tonight..

Yes we are reigning Premiers but it would be a disaster for our club to have the season interupted given we are still right in the Premiership window.

Just about the only thing that is going to stop us at the moment.

Fremantle player tested for coronavirus after being visited by friend who had been to China (paywalled)

A Fremantle player has been tested for coronavirus after suffering flu-like symptoms.

The shock development comes as the AFL prepares to address clubs on how coronavirus could disrupt the 2020 season on Tuesday.

The Dockers player was visited in Perth by a friend who had been to China, where there have been more than 80,000 reported cases of the deadly disease.

“Fremantle Football Club advises that a player has been sent for precautionary COVID-19 testing after having contact with a friend who had been in China earlier this year,” a club statement read.

“The player has advised the club that after his friend returned from China the friend underwent a 14-day isolation period, as recommended by the Australian Government for all Australians returning from China.”

The player’s friend reported suffering no flu symptoms during the isolation period.

However, the club has taken no risks after the player suffered “flu-like symptoms”.

LTRTR your thoughts.

Captains run/photo/promo shoot for the AFL captains today.

Wonder when we will know further details( not name) not concerned for the players, but if the player tests for C19 should Fyfe be excluded from the group of captains.

Stupid I know BUT...

Im being silly hey?

600+ players in the AFL plus staff, media etc. It’s a massive industry now. Won’t take much to put a spanned in the works should this virus take hold.
FYI all Serie A soccer matches in Italy have been cancelled as it stands.

The sheer size of our country will make us a lot safer than most.
For example, we are 26 times the size of Italy & have slightly more than a third of their population 23M-60M
We have on average 336574 sqm per person, they have 5000sqm

what does a footy department in lockdown mean?

how do you lockdown a footy department?

no vanilla slices?
surely Balmey has stripped local bakery shelves of vanilla slices before they announced the lock-down?
