Yes. A fearsome adversary; you might not like him but you damn well better respect him. I held Hansie Cronje in similar regard until the thing.

I don’t believe Smith necessarily merited such intervention, but such is the power Kohli wields.

Hear hear. Ablett is a decent analogy and be great to hear the likes of Cotch, Pendelbury and other respected leaders show the way.

Yeh, amazing stuff from Kohli.

Bloody impressive by Kohli to stand up for Smith.

In situations like the ablett booing on friday night, I would love to see the players stand up and do the same.

It is a sh!t act by supporters and we have experienced it recently with rance last year. IMO it impacted his form.

Took balls by Kohli. True leadership.

Agreed TF, I have never been a big fan of Kohli, but after this display of sportsmanship I tip my hat to him. He is a fearsome competitor, but he's also shown that he's a real sportsman. :clap :clap :clap

In other words

The self-described true aussie competitor

Our bowling ranks are paper thin yet we ignore our best spinner. Lyon must play. Our 4th & 5th bowlers are woeful. Graphic shown in last night's telecast lists ours the worst of all 10 nations. Leaving Hazlewood out looks a poor decision atm....

Couldn't believe that Kane Richardson replaced Jhye Richardson, Hazlewood is entitled to be peeved.

Australia 3/224 after 34 overs v Pakistan but Smith and Maxwell threw away their wickets.

Disappointing to not bat out the overs and only get 307 given the start. We were 0/146 in the 23rd over.

The last 10 overs were all Pakistan.

Very insipid finish by Australia. All out for 307 in the 49th over.

We were 2/234 in the 34th so we lost 8/73 in 15 overs. Pretty poor.

Very poor finish. Will have to bowl well.

yeah set up for a bigger score, but great bowling by pakistan in the second half of the innings. evenly poised game.

Good win. Though we were carried by the big guns with bat and ball again.

We can't find the right balance with our team and with the squad there not sure we can.

Having Marsh and Khawaja at 5 and 6 surely not right plan.

We also need to bring another bowler in. Can't be relying on Maxwell and Finch for 10 can we, 70 off 9 last night? Though our bowlers outside the big two are near going for as many.

Not enough big hitters in the middle order for mine, compared to the Poms and India. It pretty much relies on Maxwell which is very much hit and miss.

It was circumstances that had Marsh & uzi bat where they did. And they are both just average fielders.

The Ashton turner non-selection will cost us IMO.

Maxwell was going to bat at 6, when Smith went out in the 29th over the Aussies were 223, so they sent Maxwell in.

Smith and Maxwell played expansive, profligate shots. They needed to work as hard as any other game to press home the advantage.

It was a mental application thing and one area for improvement that is totally fixable.

Maxwell needs to take a look at Jos Buttler. Cameos of 20 or so runs are not good enough even if off only 10 balls. Has all the talent but regularly gives it away.
