The batting lineup is a real worry.

Just on David Warner, he’s struggled in England in past test series so I reckon he’s lucky to even be there.
He’s scored 586 runs @ 27.8 with a highest score of 85.
Problem is there’s not much else batting wise to replace him

I bet if we didnt have Steve Smith being Don Bradman Mk2 these guys either side of him in the batting lineup would look so bad. In reality Warner, Bancroft, Paine, Wade and even Usman are not up to standard. Not by a longshot.

Our entire batting line up is garbage aside from Smith.

Head I'm still not sure about but if hes gonna dig in and fight then that'll do for now.

Bancroft cant even hold his bat straight, Warner is a flat track bully on dead road drop in wickets over here, and nigh on useless anywhere else his stats back it up , Khawaja is overated AF and shouldve been given the arse ages ago and Paines best passed him by whilst he sat out years with busted fingers and hands which is a shame.

Renshaw, Patterson, Carey, Heazeltt and Harris need to be looked at to come in for the home series they are the future.

Pucovski will be in there in time also.

Thank god our bowlers are doing the job.

I assume Starc for Siddle at Headingley. If they juice up the pitch for Archer, we may as well take advantage of it ourselves.

Drop Warner, play 4 quicks and Lyon. Get Starc padded all over and get him to open and swing the bat. Cant do any worse than Davy.

Oh yeah drop Bancroft too and bring in Harris.

LubeMachine in for Smitty!

They don't need to juice the pitch up, Headingley is always a quick one.

I think the script of the series so far (other than Smith getting injured which nobody would want, and the English that booed him back on are idiots) has gone in line with what I expected.

2 relatively poor batting lineups, 2 good bowling lineups and then there is Root and Smith. Said to my mate (he's an aussie, I'm a pom) that the series will be won by whoever of those 2 scores the most runs. Hence Aussies up 1-0 at the moment. Smith has been immense. I did think Labusgne (or however you spell it) looked really good, got an examination with pace at one end (Archer ) and spin at the other but looked really good and he and Head basically drew the game for the aussies, that partnership sucked the life out of the test and of the English bowlers.

Headingley will likely be low scoring but I'd say England probably go in favourites being as its Root and Bairstows home ground and I think Roy will play better on the quicker pitches, and obviously with Smith out that's a massive swing between the 2 sides. It will come down to which poor batting lineup manages to stick around for long enough. Over within 3 days IMO and Lyon won't get a chance to have much of an impact.

Khawaja must go. I can’t cop these mark waugh lite dismissals any longer.

I’d rather blood a kid than watch Khawaja disappoint when we need him most.

Bit harsh Baron. 8 centuries in 43 tests at an average of 41.4. Solid test player.

Khawaja has 2 hundreds in 19 overseas tests at an average of 29.
Take out his two tons (141 against Pakistan and 140 againt NZ), he has 721 runs in 33 innings at an average of 22.

Like a lot of modern day players, his record in the comforts of home versus away is poles apart.

Not good enough, particularly from your number 3.

England won the toss and are bowling. Rain already. Geez I’m glad England sent their convicts to a sunny climate 231 years ago.

Pressure on our batting lineup especially Warner, Khawaja, Wade and Paine.

Been a while since we played a test at Headingley, i remember Sidds going through them the last time we played there.
A shame the sun's not out, going to be tough going with the cloud cover.
The Yorkshire crowd will ramp the vitriol up to new levels.

Harris out for 8. A matter of time, when you keep half arsed pushing at those balls just outside off stump.

And off for rain..,,

How *smile* is that lose a wicket and then rain starts immediately GAGF

The Poms have that smarmy smug swag up.

Ausssies better be praying for a rain washed out Test

I wonder if Harris didn’t get out that ball would they’ve come off after that ball?

Seems a bit unfair to cherry pick out his two best knocks.
