Geez Warner and Harris dead set walking wickets.

Broad has them pissing their pants they look likely to be dismissed every ball.

Time for a broom to go through these guys don’t deserve to start the summer here they been diabolical.

Same for Bancroft and Khawaja out ya go.

Pained time is just about up too.

Time to go forward.

Patterson, Heazlett Renshaw and Carey need to be given every chance going forward.
Agree with most of this, but without Paine who captains the side?

We lost it at the toss. And some further terrible captaincy. Reality is poor captaincy has cost us a series win. He gets kudos for last test but he cost us a win at Headingley and another here.

Our bowlers need to duck into some bouncers.

"Where are you?"
A: "The MCG"

"What's your name?"
A: "Don Bradman"

"As the doctor responsible for your health, I'm subbing you out of this match!"

Bring in Khawaja and Head.

Could have been four zip with some better captaincy as good as Paine has been at steadying the ship. And better batting would have helped of couse!

:D Craig you keep slipping Heazlett in there. He's done nothing. First class average of 31, averaged 25 in the Shield season just gone. Three hundreds in 33 FC games. Swap him out for Pucovski. Renshaw only averaged 21 in the Shield as well and hasn't been making runs for Kent in the County Championships, but we know he has the game, just a bad year hopefully. Joe Burns deserves a shot, can't believe they picked the hack Bancroft ahead of him for the squad - Burns can bat anywhere in the order and made 180 in his last Test.

Wow, Tassie had the Vics on toast chasing 186. Tassie were 4/172 but lost 6/12 to end up losing by 2 runs. Unbelievable.

In the season opener of the Sheffield shield Victoria are 0/129 after 34 overs to lunch.

Harris 57 and Nic Maddison 72

First extras not conceded until 0/186, very unusual. At least SA were careful with the front foot.
They were but its a pretty pedestrian SA bowling attack. Medium pacers Kane Richardson, Luke Robins, Nick Winter and then spinners Adam Zampa, Travis Head and Tom Andrews.

It'll be interesting how the selectors view Harris's innings. Whilst he played very well in spurts he was dropped twice and played plenty of balls in the air the same style he was out numerous times last summer.

Vics finally declare after 150 overs at 6/616. Maddison 224, Harris 116, Pucovski 123, Maxwell 43 and Finch 57. I’ve never seen more lacklustre cricket. Victoria only lost the last 3 wickets chasing runs and Finch went out through apathy because it was so easy. I honestly think the Vics could’ve made 1000 runs if they weren’t after the win. Will be interesting to see how SA cope with this placid wicket against the Victorian attack of Pattinson, Boland, Tremain and Holland.

edit: Weatherald out to the very first ball of the SA innings.....
