Nah...I thought the penalties were spot on.
Not when you compare it to all the penalties that other countries never bother imposing on their players who cheat.
Every other country leaves the penalties up to the games controlling body. Cricket Oz went on a self righteous bovver boots puritan rampage.

Prefer us to be like Sth Africa? Faf du Plessis was given the captaincy a month after his 2nd ball tampering offence. Or England? Atherton was given an OBE after ball tampering.

It was blatant cheating, and they deserved what they got. One of the few things CA have got right in the last decade or so.

Yep. Crippled and humiliated our own team while every other country sat back n sniggered at us. Superior self righteous only works if you don't get caught being as crooked as everyone else. Problem is that once you get caught you then have to grit the teeth n shoot yourself in the foot while everyone else laughs at you for actually pulling the trigger.

Reckon the odds are a little out. Can see Aust losing this. Or a draw if we get the rain predicted. Sth Africa have to improve a little.

Strange side. No Boland?

Boland robbed, what happened to it being harder to get out of the side than in. He deserved to retain his spot. And Agar doesn't deserve to be in purely as a spinner, if it was as an allrounder then yes. I'd rather they select a leg spinner.

Warner out, back to previous form.
He's been in great form all summer. Just poor shot selection there and at other times, as well as some good pace bowling. He's 36. Nortje is just about the only Saffer who can hold his head up. Maybe Verreyne with the bat and Jansen.

Only four bowlers and just two pacemen was an odd choice for the Aussies, especially given the report Renshaw's crook. Shows a lack of confidence in the batting, which is just as odd given all the runs we've been making. Carey coming off a ton and they don't trust him to bat at 6? Feels like they were concerned about 9, 10, Jack if they played Lyon, Boland, Hazlewood.

Handscomb added to the squad so he'll be subbed in if Renshaw tests positive for covid.

Shades of Greg Chappell, he's not in bad form he just keeps getting out, with the exception of 1 innings

Yep. Tends to happen with batsmen as they age. They're more vulnerable but once they're set they cash in.

5, 48, 21, 28, 0, 3, 200, 10.

Does that qualify as great form considering 4 innings were aginst the Windies and they are very poor?

The 200 was remarkable but his form is questionable.
