Webster’s bowling is very pedestrian at around 125km/h. I hope he can generate some movement on this green top.

Clearly out for Leysy.

Where has this nonsense about the ball not being able to touch a blade of grass come from.

The Starc catch in the Ashes is the worst example.

That's about his pace. He won't get up past much past that.

This is his type of pitch. Very Bellerive like.

He'll also bowl some off spin in the second innings.

And Joel Wilson is a guesser.

No idea how he is still umpiring - and in all the marquee series.

The difference to him and Goughy (biased but best umpire in the world) is huge.

To succeed in Australia as a medium pacer you need two of trajectory, pace and movement off the seam. He has traj. Let's hope he can get it going sideways.

Think it was Rahul when he was taking stance he was scraping a lot if *smile* off the crease for day 1.

Think this pitch might break up day 4-5 despite the grass

Looked to have been a panic merchant with that shot. Great to see.

I don’t quite get the makeup of this Indian team. Jadeja has been a fine player for a long time but 6?

I just don’t subscribe to the three all-rounders theory in test cricket.

They need to win this test but it’s a one day side for mine

First time I've seen a big bloke in the slips.
Green fields mostly gully for Australia but would be a fantastic slipper as well, as we have seen on occasion. Flintoff, Botham, Alderman, Moody, Southee, Clive Lloyd, Roger Harper and spook a few more big blokes who excelled in slips.

Kudos to Australia's curators. More grass on pitches at both test and first-class level over the past couple of seasons has made it tough going for batsmen but produces better cricket. Theoretically should prepare our blokes better for playing in England too. Far too long since we beat them over there.

Yep, Pant is batting high at 5, then he's followed by three number 7s (although Reddy could be top-6 in time). And then they have three number 11s.
