Any news on how Norm is travelling?
Would someone from the club stay with him?
Wonder how all that stuff works with interstate injuries, then you factor in Covid as well.
Hope someone is with him.
You’d imagine he’d be better off having a nice break on the GC than coming back to Vics lockdown.

Poor Dusty. You know the Injury Gods are in a serious mood when even Dusty is made to assume the position.

Got me a feeling the old Injury Gods are serious pissed off at the entire Richmond footy club (maybe we were supposed to remain inept n incompetent for another 30 years instead of winning multiple flags ).
Seems to me the bastards are flat out trying to bend over n butt *smile* anyone who's ever worn Tigers colours since we came good in 2017.
Tross knee, Jaaack pcl, Prestygiocomo constant recurring soft tissue injuries, Dusty kidney, Nank groin n ankles, Flossy concussions n knee, Soldo n Cumerbund knees, Bash achilles n calves, Balta ankle, Lamblett hip n soft tissue, Fridge, shoulder, Broady ankle, Stacky brain farts. It's been a constant arse reaming of long term injuries to key players on top of all the short term usual niggles.

In a year where all the challengers are looking more n more like pretenders to our throne and there was no way we even looked like losing our crown, the *smile* Injury Gods have simply wandered in n decrapitated the lot of us n hung us out to bleed like carcasses in an abattoir.
The good thing is according to the press we have not been cruelled by injuries like many of the favoured clubs are when they have four or five out injured!!

The narrative is well and truly out there, and history being re-written, that we have been blessed in previous years and not had injuries to key players. Even a man who normally gets its right- relatively - Harford, is peddling this too.
We spent large periods of 2019 and 2020 without key players for many weeks, mainly first 2/3 of season, then we got em back and rolled into finals ok. But we were ravaged at times - Jack, Edwards, Houli, Cotch, Lynch , Nank, Prestia and others for long periods. Annoys the hell out of me because it is another way of trying to diminish the Tigers’ achievements..

The age difference between out youngest and oldest team in 2019 (Adel R13 & GF) of 2.59 was the second-highest ever for a premiership team (after Carlton 1908). 2020 was 14th highest (2.02) and 2017 9th lowest (0.85).

Missing Nankervis, Prestia, Lambert, Astbury, Rance, Riewoldt, Soldo, Bolton... then Cotchin and Edwards pulled out just before the game. Consecutive losses of 37, 67, 33 to be out of the eight after Round 14... the only team that's ever come back from there.

Last year we had three players appear in every game (Riewoldt, Short, Castagna). Hawthorn had two and Adelaide three, and were both nowhere. The other finals sides were at the top of the list with 6-9.

Where we had some luck was being near full strength at finals time. Some people just have selective memories... or want to cheapen our achievements. They probably don't remember writing us off, either.

Dusty needs rest rather than being forced to sire a new breed of super cattle.
They say that the worst part of inseminating a cow is not being able to kiss them on the lips afterwards. But what would I know….

The irony that the most dangerous tackle sees no free kick to us & our best player out for the season.:(
Not sure how the Robinson tackle can be adjudged as dangerous. Just a hard bump by each player. In fact, it looked like Dusty was in the better position to deal out some damage as he was more side-on and hunched for the contact whereas MR laid himself fairly open. As a commentator said at the time, the damage may have been caused mostly by the hard contact punching DM's elbow back into the kidney/lower rib area.

The problem for DM was that he was trying to do something with the ball at the same time, which most likely prevented him from bracing and protecting himself further. Typically, he was trying to do the team thing rather than save himself.

Don't think you can attach any blame to MR. Just one of those unfortunate accidents that occur in a really tough contact sport. Both guys displaying a heap of courage, either could have been hurt.

Just dumb luck it was the wrong one!

Agree Leon Cameron.

Just luck.

Years back Dopey Mitch (when a blue bagger) got taken out Rd1 by none other than hard nut Tyronius Vicarious no.29.
Badly concussed and didn't return.
TV not a scratch.

It's just luck. Bad luck.
