Reckon Chimpa is simply prepping the tiger faithfull for the inevitable sense of loss we will all feel when the great man bids the game goodbye. The great man’s waning enthusiasm and desire for the game is clearly evident. The intrusive nature of player media responsibilities is also an excessive and unnecessary weight for players who just want to play.

Fair enough. He has given us so much unbridled joy. 3 flags, 3 norms and many precious memories. Deserves to go out on his own terms.

Goat tiger!

To be honest I'd rather Dusty go out a one club player with a bit left in the tank than tarnish his legacy by going to a franchise club or fading out.
If this is his last season then we just have to relish & celebrate every game we have left.

Yes hope he goes out a one club player, but I'd prefer he fades out for a couple more seasons, but his heart has to be in it. If he's invested he'll play for a couple more seasons and play well, if he isn't he'll retire.

Dusty is a professional, if he decides to continue, let it be. Still have great value for us. Younger players look up to him and he does carry alot of influence.

Martin has nothing left in the tank showing it week after week only 1/2 game efforts.

Saints his 1st half was great but after that he fell off the cliff

As for Cotchin rumour mill saying they aren’t as close as prior to Cotchin playing days. Spends less time together, no interest in the cotchins outside affairs etc. saying closer to his dad old mates and “associations” more than before

The truth is both Richo and Trent when on media duties can't say too many good things about Richmond, otherwise they won't be taken seriously. But deep down they are saying F*&K you lot, Richmond is Great!

Yes, No 4.

Listen to Caro. (not so much now, but when we were winning/don't watch the show anymore).

She'd say something then Attila the Hutch would come on and say "Here we go, the Richmond show again!"

So eventually they back off as to not be seen to be openly barracking.

That said, there is NO doubt where Richo's/Chimpah's/Caro's allegiances lie.

Well, not from me, anyway.

Absolutely

I've always reckoned he will go on (for another year or two) but admit there is a fair bit of hope in that on my part

He should finish as a one club Tiger legend and I’ve always thought the long term financial benefit in that would be substantial and possibly outweigh a season or so of big dollars obtained for the sake of 30 odd games at another club

I love what he does on the field now and would be rapt if he played on for 2 years with blokes like Brown, Campbell, Gibcus, Sonsie, McAuliffe etc plus a couple of first rounders who would get a season with him next year

Must have heard it differently. The last time I can remember him being openly positive about us on air was after match in the 2017 GF.
He was on the radio 3aw and he totally unleashed on the umpires. It was funny. (Richo, not the umpiring.)

I understand. But this is a competitive industry and to stay in it for long haul you need to create the headlines.
Chimpa can just hang shittt on every other dud.

Maybe he should aim up at Drugs and Kochies players and take the easy option like everyone else does.

I'm thinking this may well be the way it plays out mate.

I'd rather the Great Tiger King just walk away on his on terms and into his own well-earned next phase, and I have an inkling that will happen it would be the perfect way for him to just walk out the door and leave without the fanfare or attracting attention.

If possible, a quiet retirement within the confines of the club and his friends no media, no presser with him ensconced on a flight to Vegas when the news is released.

The ultimate ### You to the media if you will I'd love it.

Joining JR8 Cotch and Shane in the 300 club is his last crowning achievement in one of the greatest CVs ever in the history of the game.

Said this for a while, Craig. He’ll do what Cotch and Shed did. Play his 300, and then walk away. He may stay on until the end of the season, but he’ll retire a one club legend.

Even though you are "a long time retired", the kidney injury knocked the stuffing out of Dusty.

Thanks for nothing Mitch Robinson, you peanut.

He is still a very good footballer who could go on for at least two more years if he wants to. You could understand him not wanting to play in a bottom team though. As much as I would hate it he could get a contender over the line in 2025/26.
