External review has come up with some interesting findings:
Adrian Dodoro is the most outstanding List Manager in the AFL. He can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Best ever in VFL/AFL history. Needs his own statue at Tullamarine.
The board has been weak and dithering. Needs more like K Sheedy on the board to enforce an iron will, united clan. Have to wait till Sheedys grandkids grow to adulthood and the board can become the “Sheedy”. No need to have a board. Too many people with different opinions. United is best. As the “Sheedy” will be in charge and they will all be Sheedy’s, strong suggestion to trademark “the family club”. Hawthorn have let their patent lapse.
Coterie groups have had too much involvement in decision making and have caused fractures in the club structure and decision making. This will be resolved when the “Sheedy” is created as the coterie groups will agree going forward.
Coaching has been problematic of late. There has been an identified, untapped talent that only needs the opportunity to be in charge. And WILL take the Club back the promised land and no longer the subject of ridicule and derision. Therefore it is stongly recommended to appoint a James Hird to the job as soon as it is apparent that Brad Scott has run out of insider information from his former role as AFL ops manager. This is in keeping with the Clubs normal practice of using insider information, for example when they self reported (nudge nudge wink wink) on the drugs scandal and the process followed appointing CEO’s like Andrew Thorburn. Hird to be given an initial term of 25 years with a 25 year option at his discretion.
Brown paper bags to be reintroduced when dealing with player/managers and senior AFL employees.
