Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

Wow, just wow.

I think that just shows that someone feeds stats to King and he just repeats them. Whoever fed him that one was clearly trying to find out how dumb he was. They succeeded.

So after rd 12 we've had 105 wins and 105 losses. Very even season.

Anyone have any stats to show how the evenness of the seasons have been affected by Shocking's rule changes? It must have been way less even before 2017. I hate to think about how uneven it was back in the 80's!

How do you measure evenness?

DS
With a spirit bottle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or should that be spirit level. Doesn't matter, just get someone full of spirits to measure it for you, it's sure to be right.

Genuine question though, I can think of a few ways to measure evenness: close results, say below 1 goal or 6 points, blowouts, say 10 goals or above, and average margin.

Reckon there'd be way to many varying factors to weigh in over different eras.
Different ground conditions would massively effect scoring compared to the manicured lawns they play on now.
How do you rate what is a close game compared to a blow out in different eras of the game? During a period of low scoring a blow out would be a five goal win while at other times it would need to be a ten goal win. Yet as gets shown often in footy now a five goal margin is simply a ten minute burst of footy.

One measure might be the variance of the win count for each team in h&a games, counting draws as a half. The lower the variance, the more even the season (17 games in 2020 will artificially lower that year's figure).
