Game Day vs St Kilda

Classy but he has zero urgency or intensity.
Posters keep saying he has classy disposal; I'm still waiting to see it. Where was it today? A turnover merchant and poor decision-maker in my eyes. Kicked a lucky dribbler along the ground but gave up several with poor disposals.

Saints had more opportunities and played better overall imo but considering all our constant ins and outs due to injury, I think what this game showed most is that, once again, Saints are big pretenders.

Struggled to hit a target after half time.
Don’t get the idea of hand balling to someone under pressure. Kicking the ball
Also trying dinky short passes up forward that failed to hit targets, were picked off and easily intercepted. Can remember Dusty's, Mansell's and Sonsie's.

Far better to snap at goal. Just needed one fluky goal like King's and couple more behinds - we win. Instead created awfull turnovers that directly led to goals like Higgins got. Even making them kick out for a point would have better, far smarter when the game is there to be won.

After a strong first q from the tigs and an all around poo second q from both teams, you just knew the saints would come out strong in the third.

Could have gone either way in the end, saints a bit too strong. Not entirely unhappy, all good experience.

What a *smile* ground. Great surface but that ground is not up to standard for AFL football.

Why is it that the Tigers seem to collectively come to the party against good teams (The Swans) but fall to pieces against very ordinary sides. Has to be a mindset problem

The only real positives I have got is Campbell and Brown have a real future in AFL and hopefully with the Tigers although I acknowledge Campbell was down today

I'm not sure Sydney are that much better than St Kilda. And I'm not sure it's falling to pieces, more we haven't quite got the cattle at the moment either as a result of inexperience, lack of talent, or injuries. Overall, effort was pleasing and did well to keep it as close as we did after that third quarter. If anything, I'd be pissed off if I was a St Kilda fan. If they had aspirations for finals and top 4, you'd be wanting to do a lot better than they have so far against some pretty meagre opposition.

That was a very deliberate goal and a bloody good one. Smart as well as it be probably would have been smothered if he kicked it in the air.

He is a very good kick but he seems to not take time when he has it, which could be just senior experience. Posted earlier that he is a midfielder imo, not a forward.

We didn't fall to pieces today

Similar view to me apart from Sydney who I think are a lot better than St Kilda.

This season we will clearly be competitive but to beat the better teams we practically need everything to go right. That happened last week, and it happened in the 1st quarter, but when everything doesn't go right, we just don't have the overall cattle to offset that at the moment, like you say a bit of this is inexperience, talent and injuries, all are having an impact.

I don't like Saints list. I'd actually be gutted to have used a top 10 pick on Phillipou, at best I see him as a Stringer type, who looks good when things are going well, but when you need someone to get you out of a bad spot he goes missing. That 2022 draft at thi8s stage looks pretty weak, a good one for us to have traded out of, regardless of what some will say with the Taranto / Hopper trades.
