Thoroughly deserved to win. Had the worst of the conditions and was “on song” all week long.

Yes he did. What was he? 7 back at the start of play?

Gutsed it out and gave himself a chance.

Impressive.

I think he was 29-1 or more last night on Sportsbet. Was gonna have a run at him given the shaky nature of the leaders.

Missed opportunity.

Gonna stop watching now as they walk to the 18th green in playoff
Don‘t really know why but Thomas is a bloke I can’t like - and he’s in the bunch with Bryson and Reed for me

lost me in the presidents cup when paired with tiger he sunk a putt to win, then chest bumps TW & yells..
"i luv some ME!!"

Heh heh heh. Few players didn't like the course. Fitzpatrick and Kizzire to name a couple. Kizzire called it "overrated." A few others made some comments about the re-designed greens by Gil Hanse.

Sorry for the late notice, work has been a disaster today, will only get to the full update tomorrow.

Suffice to say the ankle kicked everyone's arses. A -6 final round capped a runaway win by approx 12 shots.

Slammin Sam has taken a clear second place.

I'll post the complete table in the morning.

Agree with Mr Brightside, the flatest major I can recall, wouldn't be surprised to find the PGA has been getting mentored by the gurus at the AFL.

All good MD, cheers for running, you had an unenviable task in taking the reigns from Big Red and have done a sterling job.

Well done AA and thanks MD.

Pretty interesting tournament with a gripping finish before a predictable play off. I reckon you have to see a Zalatoris putt from the really low angle to appreciate how bad it is. When they show the one with just putter head and ball in the shot you can see how far off line he takes the putter. I saw one today where he went half an inch in to out on a 5 foot putt and hit it barely on the toe.

Thomas is probably my least disliked American player of the big names, but man is there a creepy vibe from his mum and dad. Reckon they should have ended up in tennis.

PGA Championship is just so weird. Weird courses, weird set ups, players are allowed to use range finders, golf carts allowed if you’ve got a medical exemption (Tiger should have applied for one), hundreds of PGA hanger-ons and nobodies that appear once every year, lots of surprise one off winners eg Rich Beem, Shaun Micheel, YE Yang, Dufner, Bradley, Walker, Mark Brooks to mention a few in the last 15-20 years.

It’s just a weird major.

Always been the prick relation major for mine.

During todays coverage they put up the next few venues for the PGA.

My impressions were Valhalla yep that should be ok.

Olympic Club yep, no complaints.

The rest were meh, with a capital M.

Valhalla is average. Real average. So is Quail Hollow. Neither are Championship material. Frisco ?? What ? Another PGA owned course. (It’s actually in Texas not SF). Brand new. Opens next year.

Oak Hill, Olympic, Aronomink, Baltusrol and Congressional all good.

Yeh I don’t hate Thomas but the family thing is a bit odd. Good call on tennis.

Looking forward to the US open and then the highlight of the year the BO at St Andrew’s.

We will have our own PRE correspondent on course Mr Brightside?

US Open will be great. Brookline Country Club in Boston. A traditional US Open course.

Yellow clubhouse. We all love yellow clubhouses.

FINAL STANDINGS

Another major down, with angle ankle going wire to wire. The only punter to get all 6 entrants through 4 completed rounds. Unsure if it is a record winning score, will have to consult the archives. Am unsure if anyone has managed a win without getting all 6 players through the cut? Another one for the research boffins.

Sammy took out second place comfortably from TBR with yours truly and red in eq 4th. In the battle for the bottom Tenacious held on despite fierce competition from STC & Mopsy.

Unsure as to the future of MDJ Azz Holding INC Co Ltd NL, the Saudis are throwing stupid money at the hosting rights. But as Winston Churchill said
“Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm" so hopefully I'll be back for the US Open.
