How upset would you be if...

Just wondering about the draft and how many picks will have or may end up with after trading.

But I was thinking if as the rules say we have to give up a second round draft choice for the first father/son player taken and third rounder for the second father/son player and we only end up having one draft choice in each of those rounds.
How upset would people here be if we passed over Raines son and Disco's son, (J Cloke style) and decided to go with best available or fulfill KP needs or whatever?? (not specialist forward pockets, but to us here that should go without saying)

Wouldn't be upset at all , if there were better kids availible with our 2nd and 3rd round picks i would be upset if we took Roach and/or Raines.

Looks like neither are worth a 3rd round pick so chances are neither will be taken under f/s rule.

I'm with Skyfire, go for the best available regardless of their pedigree. I just hope they do their homework properly and know who's more likely to be the better player.

Cant kncok Bowden but David Bourke definitely. Bowden is lazy now but stil la decent player and worth something, Bourke well put it this way i wouldnt give any of my own possessions for him to play for us.

Waht was the deal with Nick Jewell? Hew always seemed to do well in the reserves and then got that 1 senior game and then was bizarrely delisted. I am sure someone here will know the real story (i am guessing discipline). Sem deal with Ben Hollands, why was he delisted?

As for the question and point of the thread, not too disappointed. If they are not worth a 3rd and 2nd round pick then wewould be stupid to get them.

Wouldn't be too upset TD. After all, you only have to look at the current situation.

How ironic that Richo, Bowden and Bourke have been the most maligned, scrutinised and criticised players at this Club over recent years.

Mark Coughlan was taken ahead of Jason Cloke and has given some of us a reason to hope for the future.

I love the idea of sons playing for their father's Club, but we need to recruit the best we can get.

If we get another Coughlan ahead of a father/son player, I can be happy with that.

Shawry, I think Nick just wasn't up to it. A good seconds player. He was better concentrating on cricket. He's really making a go of it playing for the Bushrangers, as well as playing in Pommyland.

As for Joel, I wouldn't lump him with the others either. I reckon he's only half a bottle of peroxide and a good kick up the bum off being Brownlow medal material.

To be fair to Nick Jewell he did only get the one senior game and i dont think he embarrassed himself. He is a half decent cricketer though.

Agree re Joel, too bad he has done his dash here, hopefulyl we can get an early draft pick or two for him.

The one game Nick Jewell played was in pouring rain at Subiaco, not the best conditions for a tall

But, as rosy said, he was a good reserves player, not up to AFL, good luck to him with his cricket

Agree with Skyfire. We should go over after the best available kid whether they be f/s or not. In fact we should go after the best kid available at the time of our picks full stop. If it ever turned out that a f/s was really worth a first or second round pick and we were able to get him for only the 3rd round pick then that'd be a bonus.
