Jack Ross

I like the enthusiasm, but ...

don't we already know what he's got?

just needs to play his role, play within his limitations, hold the fort.

Been in excellent form in the VFL and I think even in the AFL game he played he was starting to look more composed and confident. I think we will see a really good performance from him on Saturday.

He's 21, less than 40 games, with some elite attributes and some weaknesses.

We won't know what he can be for a while yet.

We will finally see what he's got to offer as an inside mid in the 1s. Will shed a lot of light on his future I reckon

Nah too much starburst rainbowtardery in this perspective.

You can’t magically produce the skill required at the level.

Endurance, yes. Composure, sure.

Guy like Sonsie? We already know he has the skill. So we wait and see.

I’ve seen enough to know Ross is a depth player at a club with poor depth in 2022.

Reckon the club knows this too.

Ross reminds me a bit of Dan Jackson in the early part of his career - mature body, hard working, great endurance but tried to do things with the ball he wasn't capable of (think of Dan trying to hit up short kicks to target - couldn't do it).

Ross' strengths are winning the ball and endurance (not as quick as Jackson though). Can't hit short targets either, so like Jackson we need to keep him to his limitations - see ball, get ball and give off or kick long to set positions (never short). Dan became a great player knowing his limits and there's still time for Ross too. Hardest thing is to win the ball and Ross can already do that.

I think the Club knows whats he got , the game V Swans was a hot game and I thought he was a mixed bag
when he knew he had time he was good with ball in hand
when he felt under pressure he was tending to dump kick , and of course , straight to oppo players and yes we howled
back in the VFL he stands out

at worst he is good insurance and there is still time for him to be an ok player in a top 8 style side

i Think he has improved this year, both at vfl and afl

Bit more improvement and he will be regular 22 afl

If Ross only improves a bit and becomes a regular first 22 we’re in serious trouble
