Jack Ross

He doesn’t hurt the oppo enough. Yes I know he had a defensive role but our momentum dies when he has the ball.

Thought he had a poor, inoffensive game and with the VFL performing well I’d have him out, take the opportunity to upgrade the team.
Tough crowd..!

Sheesh thought i was harsh. Thought he did well on Sunday and stood up when pressure lifted. Keeps playing.

The bias against Ross is something that some on here will never be able to get past.
He had just put together a really solid block of games and on cue it’s he missed a target, doesn’t hurt enough, too defensive, not defensive enough…
We get some will never like Ross so why posting in this thread?

Ah let them post. We need the difference of opinion.

Plus, this way Rossy gets the chance to make them look silly.

I thought he looked a lot better. Have been unconvinced by him quite a few times. But he seems to have more time and space than he used to and his disposals look more considered. We should persist, his influence on the game is getting better.

Takes a while to grow a footballer.

A highlight among so many on Sunday was a Jack Ross kick on his non-preferred!
Had me out of my seat, and the burr out from under my saddle.
Good game and well done Jack.

Most numbers down. Performance up again.

Ross has specialised in finding a hole and sending it to a hole. Until 2024.

Under Yze he has to get his hands dirty. And Twinkletoes is doing that.

Crude numbers 24 touches for 2 SI. 11 CBA for zip nuthen clearance. Nah. Not good enough. But our man kept cracking in around the ground. And got 4 clearance. 4 turnover. Welcome to the dirty world.

The numbers that have fallen have like SI have done so because Ross is cracking in. He's putting his head over the ball. Kicks down. HB up. He's inside at last. And he's banging it on the foot in traffic. Not sagging to a hole and working 1-2s. This is football.

24 touches of honest football? Very good. The bloke is trending up. And I use the word "bloke" advisedly.

Is he getting back to his rookie year? Playing a bit inside, getting a bit more of the ball. His versatility to our list is underrated.
Foot soldier. Reliable foot soldier. We can't have 22 of em in a match, but he has a place in our 22. I like him.
Has there been a guy who's been stuffed about more positionally in recent times than Ross?
Just keeps turning the cheek and says, "sure, I'll do that for you as best I can."
Wonder how much he's rated inside the club.

Incremental improvement is an underrated quality. He’s diligent and applies himself to every job he’s given. I’m betting g he will improve in this role too.

I like the boy, tried his ass off all day, has had his early career shafted by you know who. Say no more.

He was pretty good. As Big Jack said, Ross owning the space over the pill was a step up.

very happy with his game. Works hard, looks for options under pressure. Solid

10 contested possessions is up for him.

Still went at 80 per cent.
Score involvements down, but so were everyone's bar Shai. Hard to be involved in a score when there aren't any. Lynch plays, Ross would have had 15 SI.

Shai can create a score without any one else's involvement.
