Think he's well and truly paid his debt 8 years and 132 games on.

and three flags. And that kick from the boundary line against Port in the Prelim.

Tiger Champion. He can go out on his own terms, if he hangs 'em up soon because of the hip, he walks out with our thanks.

Yeah he’s been an absolute ripper.
He waited years for an opportunity, then repaid that faith over and over. Bloody champion.

To think he got ignored for about 5 or 6 drafts.
8 seasons, 132 games n 3 Tiger flags later bloody magnificent effort Lamblett, always a Tiger hero. Rest of the league can kiss his hairy butt crack. If the hip's gone n he can't play anymore, there's nothing left to prove.

I have the same degenerative hip issues as Lambo.

I don't know how he keeps going

a 4 inch needle full of Torodol and Lignocaine?

think it might be over for The Great Kane Lambert.

and I think he'll be beeping at airports henceforth.

I heard he wants to get into coaching and helping our kids. That'll be great if so.
Well he had to fight and claw for his football career. He has had many setbacks along the way, so he only knows the “hard way” to succeed.
Hard work, perseverance and self belief are traits he has in abundance. That could be very valuable to be able to pass on to aspiring young players. “No short cuts”. He knows what is required and has a smart football brain to go with it.
I hope we can find him a position when he’s ready

I have seen or heard NOTHING to convince me lambo is suffering anything but soreness, the same as he has felt for years.

the guy was not crying, looked relaxed after the game, he will be back straight after the bye in my opinion.

Close to impossible. I know he's being managed and is very important in our team but clearly he needs an operation and what the cost for him personally in the long-term trying to fit in a few more games?
I can't speak with any authority on the issue, only from my own diagnosis.

The options I have had are cortisone injections into the hip, which give relief for a couple of months. I have done it once and wouldn't bother again.

I am not allowed to run anymore. I do pilates and encouraged to ride or swim. Surgeon has told me to try to get to mid-fifties, as hip replacements last ~25 years and then need to be done again. However I don't reckon I will get there as walking is increasingly more uncomfortable.

As I said, I don't know how lambo pushes through it. I do wonder if it's possible for him to have the hip replacement now and comeback next season.

Such a wonderful player. So unassuming but so effective.

Im not writing him off either. If it responds to rest and management, and we can get 5-6 games out of him from now to September then hopefully finals then that would be perfect. On a more pessimistic perspective, or him to be subbed out due to the him would indicate h could no longer do basic things without being in excruciating pain.

Wait and see on Lambo.

To be honest we all should carry him out.

Agree everyone is different. I was diagnosed with a cam deformity about 7 years ago. It was a minor one but had scraped well over 2 thirds of my cartilage away and was told by the specialist that if I kept running the odds were I would need a hip replacement within 12 months. Like you I was told I was too young for a new hip and at that stage they were not good at replacing a replaced hip and most people die before their replacement wears out anyway. I have found a way to walk, cycle and paddleboard that keeps me a little fit and strangely my hip has improved a bit. But I can’t kick a footy, or run at all, even a run over a few 100m is painful.

I was into endurance events, triathlons etc and I reckon it took a good 12 months to adjust, get my head around it.

So I can understand, not knowing Lambos (or your) exact diagnosis, but I take my hat off to Lambo, he is giving us his all, including his future wellbeing, to our great club.

Such a selfless player.
