So what would you do in North's position, take Adelaide's pick trade offer? This Horne bloke must be pretty damn good.

I'd take Adelaides offer.
Reminds me of the offer made to St Kilda the year they selected McCartin, 4 & 7, think I went with Lever & Wright, much better deal although Petraccca more value all things said and done.

Didn’t Sydney offer us 6 and 14 for Pick 3- Dusty?

I thought it was a good deal at the time. Shows what I know. Sydney used the picks on Gary Rohan and Lewis Jetta.

Still, Nathan Fyfe went at 20 that year and Gawn was 34.

You wouldn't swap Dusty for all of Fyfe, Gawn, Jetta and Rohan. Not even if they added value by leaving Rohan out.

It just goes to show, so much Internet energy is expended on discussing trades to move a draft pick up the line a couple of places and then , in the actual world, somebody uses pick 6 on Gary Rohan!!

Or some other spud.

A few years old. MacRae stands out though.
The pick 6 is getting better, games played wise anyway, over the last 20 years:

2001: Ashley Sampi (West Coast) – 78 games
2002: Steven Salopek (Port Adelaide) – 121 games
2003: Kepler Bradley (Essendon) – 117 games
2004: Tom Williams (Western Bulldogs) – 85 games
2005: Beau Dowler (Hawthorn) – 16 games
2006: Mitch Thorp (Hawthorn) – 2 games
2007: David Myers (Essendon) – 116 games
2008: Chris Yarran (Carlton) – 119 games
2009: Gary Rohan (Sydney) – 165 games
2010: Reece Conca (Richmond) – 149 games
2011: Chad Wingard (Port Adelaide) – 194 games
2012: Jack Macrae (Western Bulldogs) – 185 games
2013: Matthew Scharenberg (Collingwood) – 31 games
2014: Caleb Marchbank (GWS) – 48 games
2015: Aaron Francis (Essendon) – 50 games
2016: Sam Petrevski-Seton (Carlton) – 94 games
2017: Jaidyn Stephenson (Collingwood) – 73 games
2018: Ben King (Gold Coast) 53 games
2019: Fisher McAsey (Adelaide Crows) 10 games
2020: Denver Grainger-Barrass (Hawthorn) 5 games

average games played by draft pick no. 6 : 120

It’ll be interesting to look back and see how CJ going to North and pushing out Xerri to St Kilda (seemingly at this stage) works out for them. And also how it affects Charlie Comben.

North asking St Kilda for a future 2nd rounder for Xerri, interesting to see how these negotiations go considering North effectively got a 3rd rounder this year and future 4th rounder back for CJ

Haven't seen Xerri play but surely drafting CJ 52 picks earlier should add slightly to his value? and why bring CJ in when you have Xerri?

Because they think he is better of course.
