Good on Noble. Unlikely to have got a job under any other circumstance but gee, it is going to be a tough gig for him and the AFL not known for giving coaches second chances if you aren't successful the first time.

As a middle-aged unemployed man with some background in footy, I'm liking the trend of giving coaching gigs to older, untried candidates without senior coaching backgrounds.

The next time Richmond fails to win the premiership I'll be calling for an immediate transition to the TBR era.
I’ll have a crack at been your motivational assistant coach speaker

Fagan is making a decent fist of it, but it's a young man's game.

Good luck to Noble with the rabble has has to work with. To me his appointment is a bit of a poisoned chalice
Yep, he’s gunna be up against it from the start. North are at rock bottom so aren’t going to be winning too many games which means he,ll have a poor win/loss record which will put the pressure on. Like Neeld at Melbourne, Bolton at Carlton.

Well I for one think this is a very good appointment.

Noble strike me as being a really good fit at North at this stage of their development. I can't see him winning them a flag, but an astute transition type appointment. They need a calm, older head to change direction down there and start getting the youngsters to emerge under a solid gameplan.

This is the type of appointment that Paul Roos supposedly represents, except the results don't seem to be there in his case after he leaves.

Strikes me as a bit of a Len Smith at Richmond type appointment, and we know how that ended up.

Best of luck to him.

Bloody moderate, I'll take the deep end.

Know nothing about Noble but this is going to be one hell of a hard gig.

What North need to do is work out what they want to be. Clearly they know it is time to rebuild, they need to be planning maybe 5 years ahead to rise incrementally and get games into young players. Get a group together and see if they can mould them into a competitive team. Plus they need to create some sort of profile. The Shinboner Spirit is very unconvincing, seems to be something they drag out when they are crap, find something else, make it fit with their successful eras.

He won't last 3 years. Maybe 4 because it is North Melbourne.
Not sure using the old codger as a guide to selecting a coach is a good idea.

Leppa, Voss, Carcella or Knights would've been my top candidates

Who laughed when they saw Robert Harvey as a top candidate for the Job?
The Collingwood supporters wouldn't have helped his cause with the constantly shitt canning he was copping on radio in the last couple of weeks.
I bet the mob is very happy he now stays at the Lexus centre.:D
