I think the Eagles have done us a favour.

Matt presents really well but the quality of his drafting over seven years suggest he isn't a very good judge of talent.

For all the criticisms our recruiting department has copped I'm very concerned that we promoted from within. Are our internal talent identification, data analysis and rating processes the best practice within indusrty? What benchmarking did we do to understand why our recruiting has been so poor?

Also further concerned that Gale and Richardson were the ones making this appointment. They have form of lacking nous and making poor decisions with football matters. Job for a mate perhaps? You would think the new football manager should have some input into this crucial football role
This was not quite the OP but it's a prescient post.

We say Clarke's legacy will be determined by the 2021 Superhunks. At present he looks in the positive for late subsequent picks Green, Campbell, McAuliffe and (after a brief glimpse) Smith. And Ryan the year before.

But we can't ignore 2017/18. Higlet (when we already had The Prince, $hai, Bulter, George and Stengle), Balta and Coleman-Dud when he could conceivably have got Oscar Allen, Balta and Sam Taylor and set our talls for the next generation. (Jack was 29, Tross 28 and DTLD 26 at the time - time for forward planning. As list boss Blair must wear some of this also.)

In 2018 he could have listened to Frank and picked Bobby Hill instead of indulging his own hard-on for RCD.

How would we look now? A lot better.
What’s the chances of Frank coming back?

Sam Cheeseburger reckons Hartley is not looking internally and 3 guys that are in view are Anthony Parkin (Port), Adam Shepard (Collingwood) and Chris Toce (ex St Kilda).

Be warned. We will probably not appoint any of them…

Sam Cheeseburger isn't usually too bad is he? I know Maclure is as useless as a *smile* flavoured lollipop. (RIP Patches O'Houlihan)

This year will most likely have a top 4 pick
Every one in the country will know the best 4 players.
But we will try to pick the one that needs the most development

It's going to be a tortuously long year leading up to the Draft at end November for you Zips.
You need to consider entering a Supporter Support Program.
At the very least, pace yourself man; we aren't even into April and the teeth gnashing over our upcoming draft selections is almost audible.

Bolton for 2 x top 10 picks

Go into the draft with 3, 7, 9, 22

Recruit the next Knights, Campbell, Lambert and Nicholls in one hit before Tasmania sticks it’s snout in the trough.
