Pleased that Casey Affleck won best actor for 'Manchester By the Sea', outstanding performance, great film.
I'm a fan of his acting (not so much his sexual harassing) but I thought it was a one-note performance with no arc or change in the character from start to finish. Viggo Mortenson should have won for mine.

And Meryl (or anyone) should have won Best Actress instead of Emma Stone.

Pretty amazing that an Al Qaeda propaganda film the White Helmets won an oscar.

You really believe that? You know it's the Russians and the Assad regime that makes these allegations.

Yep. Just because Putin and Assad aren't angels doesn't mean everything they say is wrong. I mean the propaganda is one thing, but an oscar? that is another level.

Hidden Figures, despite being fairly formulaic and taking a bit of licence on the story, is a delightful film. Octavia and Taraji slay it, as usual.

Good description. I enjoyed it. A reminder of what a segregated America was like just a short time ago..

Have recently watched a few top line films...

Gravity. It sucked!

Chi-Raq. Can't think of a film like it, sooo different. Really liked what it brought to the screen and the quirkiness worked for me.

Moonlight. Really enjoyed it but would have liked it more if there was a bit more story, on the 'not the central character', included. I mean, what happened to Blue? And the very important, what was his weights program when in the joint? Protein bars...?

Out of them all Chi-Raq was prob my fav, with Moonlight a close second. Gravity... I almost want that 100ish minutes back.

Logan 9/10 Up there with TDK....
Manchester by the sea 9/10 Gut wrenching , beautiful , funny , Casey definately deserved the oscar.
The Edge of Seventeen 7/10 pretty good as far as teen movies go , Hailee and woody were great..
Sing Street 6/10 A lot of people love this but it just didn't quite do it for me..not sure why..

Haven't seen Logan, agree with Manchester & Edge of Seventeen, I loved Sing Street, probably my favorite movie of 2016.

Get Out, excellently creepy thriller that has you uneasy well before you know what's going on.
Yep, loved it.

Snatched with Amy Schumer, on the other hand was awful. Unfunny, just a mess.

Sorry guys, you are watching d grade trash.
Do yourselves a favour....find or download a copy of. ....Night on Earth... by Jim Jarmusch.
It is hilarious and world class.
