Nathan Batsanis
DOB: 18/3/88
179cm 72kg No.15
Ave: 1Gl 1Bd 10EK 1IK 8EHB 0IHB 6HR 18ED 2Mks 3T 1FF 1FA 0HOs

Picked him up a few times whilst watching Oakleigh.
Picked up 25+ possies midseason on 5 occassions, but that was when the best boys were occupied with the carnival. Looked quite good for a 2006 TAC prospect.
Looking forward to seeing him develop further in the TAC next year.

Exclusive? Chapel St or Bridge Rd gpb?

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

Batsanis Shoes were made by Mr Batsanis (can't remember his first name), a master craftman in shoe making.

It looks like either has expanded or his kids have taken over the business.

I recall shops at Melbourne Central & Elizabeth St, but I'm not sure if the original shop still exists in the heart of Victoria St, Richmond.

The lads have been bumping this one for you, blaisee, until Redders, evo, DF et al get online.

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

Unfortunately, because I haven’t seen too many Oakleigh games this year, and because Batsanis is underage (i.e. first year in TAC Cup), I haven’t seen enough of him to really be able to pass comment on how he plays.

(Sorry, don’t wanna make stuff up, or speak wastage, when I’m unable to pass genuine comment on his playing ability.)

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

Like Red Ionly saw one oakleigh game. Can't remember him specifically. Will keep an eye on him next year for you Blaisee.

Can't exactly say what his chances are.

My view on his footy is that 18 possies per game is not enough for a <180cm player.
Next year, if he gets his possie rates up around or over 25 per game, then he will be sought after.

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

Is he a possibility to go somewhere in the 3rd or 4th round? Or will he last until the rookie draft? Any informed opinions welcome.

Can't say.
It will depend on how the draft plays itself out.

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

Well of course you cant say Phantom. Maybe I should have made my question more clear.
In your opinion, where do you see a player like Batsanis as going in the draft, judging by what you have seen of him?

BTW Phantom what can you tell us about a bloke name Caleb Mouresh (sp?) from WA? Noticed on BF that some guy had him as our first round selection in his phantom draft. Although I am not worried about it happening, I wouldnt mind finding out some more about this guy.

Sorry, missed your reply until now.

Batsanis could be anywhere from round 3 on, I guess.
Depends on who wants him badly enough.

Mouresh is a very interesting prospect.
He comes from Geraldton and is supposed to be a 6'3" ruck rover type.
He's reputed to be the complete junior package.
Also, he's supposed to be best mates with Pat Ryder, now with the Bombers.
He played the one Colts game to qualify for the National Draft.

Not much info, it would need someone who has seen him to comment better.

I know that Essendon have looked at him.
I didn't want to talk about him, without knowing anything substantial.
It would be hard to gauge a player who has had so little mainstream experience.

One might suspect a taller version of Carl Peterson.

A speculative pick indeed.

I smell something fishy about Mouresh.

Re: Red Evo and Phanto: Opinions on Nathan Batsanis from Oakeigh please

i think batsanis might be a bit too selfish. have seen a few games for oakleigh this year, especially near the end of the season, and as soon he gets the ball he's looking goalward.. doesnt mind having a shot is what im trying to say. wouldnt take him personally, much better prospects
