Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Early in the 2nd qtr he got him from the side then when he was on the ground, a stkilda player ran over him and fell into him.
He was gone after that.
Where was the free kick??

How about the break away speed of this bloke?
Created separation from Bailey Smith like he was a witches hat with 8 steps after picking the ball up off his bootlaces.
Power athlete.

I see a lot of 2017 redrafts and Oscar Allen is rated top 5, and Balta isn't top 10.

Probably biased, but Noah over Allen every day of the week.

Just watching the replay.
In the 2nd quarter the goal to Tommy Gun Lynch that started with Chimpah winning the ball v Smith.
Hamish talking about that Balta run.
"Noah Usain Balta!"
Don't care for Hamish normally but that was pretty funny.
A freakish prospect is as I like to call him The ArkMan!

The only bloke that big I’ve seen do that kicked his 1000th goal a few weeks ago.

Balta could be anything.
A power fwd, winger pushing fwd or rance esque defender.
We will build a side around this bloke.
Exciting times especlliay with Gibcus playing down back.
We are rebuilding on the run and challenging still.

I really hope I’m wrong with this , however I’m still of the belief that Balta is just a pinch hit forward , yes there’s days he’ll kick goals as he’s a bloody good footballer and super athlete , however I can’t see him as the permanent Premiership key forward you build your forward line around . Problem is we have one key forward that still plays solid football on the list , we have options down back , however I have no doubt Balta should be an absolute weapon coming out of the back half , lock him and Gibbo in there for 10 years, Balta is such an athlete we don’t need him picking up the Gorilla , Tarrant can still do that . I think it’s a must he plays back and pinch hits in the ruck . In saying that geez we need another key forward

That's 2 games this year where he has copped a hit and he just fades away.
No influence again
I'm really worried that Hardwick dosent know where to play him.
He is a forward but Riewoldt needs to retire.
You can't have Riewoldt lynch and Balta

Played his best game when Jack was in the stands. Go figure.

Balta is new in his roles. #3 forward changing ruck. Not easy to learn. So it's natural that he will lose confidence for little periods of a game. And with inexperienced players it's more like that they'll get a bit lost in a road game. That's when their more experienced team mates set an example or guide them.

Noah had some lapses in a road game but he still kicked 1.1 and had an additional score involvement. Got 15 touches and 7 taps. 1 clearance. Did not cough the ball up.

We want to keep Noah down the order while we develop him. Confidence and education for him.

Looked gassed about 10mins into the 3rd. Not a surprise given what he is trying to do. Kid's a special one, I reckon he will get there.

Just let him settle in the forward line. We are delaying his development by throwing him around everywhere.

Has been ordinary the past two weeks.
Looked like he couldn’t judge his marks tonight.
Not sure about his willingness to be physical when in the ruck.
Send him back and leave him there.

Just wasn't in the game tonight.
I hold high hopes for Balta and hoping tonight was just one of those games that come along every now and then.

He needs to learn how to read the play. He won't be really damaging until he gets better at that. Lots of time with Cotchin, Grimes etc. Blokes who really know the game. He has all the tools. That is much easier to do from the defensive half. Half back. Study the game. Licence to throw in a gut busting run and break the lines once per quarter. Then back to your spot. Read the play. Learn.

Refuse to blame Noah for his poor form. This one is on the coaches. Guy dominated as a 20-21 year old as a key backman and we are hell bent on trying to turn him into something he may never be and in the process completely kill his confidence and his development

He was faltering down back before his injury. Started fumbling everything and looked unsure of himself. In fact fumbling the ball in wide open space is what got him injured in the first place. Has the physical tools. Not sure about the mental part.
