We know by now what Balta is. The silver lining is we're getting a look at other players in these positions.

Got bigger issues to worry about personally now but his off season brain fade & resulting self inflicted suspension has really weakened us defensively. Whilst not a perfect product by any stretch, we’re missing Balta’s experience, strength, pace & intercept marking that a well paid, elite key defender provides an AFL side.
Much of that responsibility is now falling to the likes of Miller & Blight who’d be on a fraction of Noah’s salary & they’re copping supporter wrath unreasonably as they try to cover. His off field stupidity has really punished the team on field.

I was excited pre season with the thought that we could have defensive pillars together for the next 6-7 years in Balta and Gibcus. It seems a long way off now.
We can still hope and dream I guess, add Trainor to that duo and we have a potentially great defensive spine
RIP Andrew Krakuoer. On this topic, I have already seen it described as 'inspirational' by Krakuoer - that being playing AFL again after spending time in jail, for serious assault. So I personally really hope we stick with Balta all the way
