Pick 53: Jack Graham

An accountable inside mid is his spot. If he is not getting the appropriate match ups in there for us to play him there we need him out of the team.

I’ve always thought we are a better team with Jack , Jack Graham that is in the team, Jack seems to be the opposite to Dusty who is pure attack, Jack is pure defence , which in the past has made a nice balance . I think it’s as simple as if Jack did his job Thursday night he stays in if he didn’t he will be replaced

Jack’s one wood has been his pressuring & tackling inside.
Two serious shoulder injuries may see that reduced somewhat.
His limitations as a more outside player are being exposed In the current format.
No matter what happens he’ll always be a RIchmond legend but there’s pressure on Fridge’s position in the team right now no doubt.
They are playing him on a wing which is a crazy move. Is that out of necessity due to Ellis not being there or are they managing him due to the issues with his shoulders?

it is a crazy move, even if they are managing him. you'd think Kmac? would be a better replacement in the interim for Ellis.
There's something not quite right with the balance of the team selection right now.

Needs to be dropped. I love the way he goes about it but he's not playing his role that hes specialised into his own, and has played 2 pretty poor games in a row.

He is too slow and not agile enough to play outside.

Until he's plying his trade effectively or able to do so then he is best to sit out and allow the side to benefit from a fitter, more versatile player.

Also the shorter quarters are not in his favour. He runs hard all day and is still running hard at the 30min mark of each quarter, when others have given up. He is not a sprinter more a grinder - think Cliffy Young :D

Very hard to tell on the TV, but I get the feeling he is starting on the wing but not necessarily playing on the wing.
Apart from the last quarter he was hardly contesting any centre bounces. Plus during play you can see him quite a lot towards half back / wing. The Grigg role.

Looks to be carrying his shoulder still. Reckon he should be given a few weeks of getting his shoulder right with no games. Invest in his future.

Agree, he doesn’t trust his shoulder and this is limiting his output.
Agree; he is noticeably nursing/protecting a still-sore shoulder. Cannot see how he can play and tackle hard in this condition. Kmac in for another go; he can run hard and tackle hard. The Aints are leading Tackle team atm at 57.3 av. We are 9th at 49.7 i.e. way down.

Patience grasshopper. The fridge might need more recovery time. We need him at the end of the year.

I don’t care if this guy wins as the premiership season end.
Needs to go.

Really like him but he looked really out of form and underdone against Hawthorn. He clearly lacked pace on Thursday. To me he also looks way too heavy for this years shorter and quicker games. I swear he looked like he was running up and down on the spot a few times as opponents just flew past him...

If I am Adelaide, in the situation they are in, I am throwing everything to get this guy to their club. I hope for our sake we keep him, but if I put my list management hat on, if I am in charge of the Crows - this kid would be numero uno on my must haves. Future captain. He's a culture changer.

Their next two first rounders and only maybe.

It will happen. Go home factor is there, but he isnt going to shaft the club.

Really wonder what message he got when dropped, if it was about lack of pressure or lack of possessions?

If Jack Ross comes on, Graham’s price drops internally. If it was pay him 500 plus or a second round pick ( for the Crows that will be inside 25, I think I take the pick. Interesting times for ahead surrounding JG.

Oh man, Graham is being fiercely overrated here, Bob. He’d be great for the crows culture, but he wouldn’t give them much, if anything, useful on field.

Matt Crouch got dropped this week, and he’s the version of Graham that gets a lot of the ball.

Their next two first rounders and only maybe.

Butler got us pick 56, and Butler is a much better player. If Graham left, pick 50-60 would be about the mark.
