I think we need to back Nahas to find his form in the seniors.
He is really important to our forward line.
As a crumbing forward he needs two or three bigger players around him to fly for marks.

I agree. He satrted to come back into form last week against the Hawks IMO. Played a good game there.

Is the quintessential small fwd in my mind, yet we try and make him a midfielder. Agree BBC, wait and see how Griff fits in and get Nahas to practice front & square every single week.

Freo tried this trick with Farmer, the forward to midfielder role. Why teams recruit a guy as a small forward then try them in the midfield is beyond me. Especially with a guy as high profile as Farmer was when he left Melbourne.

Didn't work, cost them Medhurst in the end, and Farmer was never the same.

That selfish attempt at goal towards the end of the game that went OOTF was it for me this week, must be demoted back to Coburg again.
Astbury was wide open 20m out directly in front. If Dimma wants them playing team football then Nahas needs to be made an example of.

When he's on, his tackling intensity is great and he's a great addition to our forward line, but last night he did very little and his tackles were meek. I like him, think he can remain on the list, but he needs to get back some of last year's form, other than one game it's been AWOL in 2010.

Yep, that was ordinary - was one event though.

The rest of his game was ordinary as well though

His tackling is one of his strengths but he didn't have any of his usual intensity at the man and was just brushed off
Not like the Bombers are a big bodied side either

He MUST bulk up.

At his age and his body type I don't know if that is possible. He doesn't look like he has the kind of frame that can really do that. Plus it could hurt one of his very few weapons and that is his pace. Also unnatural additional body weight can make players potentially more prone to injury. If we really want a bigger bodied running forward most likely we'll need to draft one. As for Nahas, he is looking more like a solely VFL player with every passing week.

I dont known how you address it but I'd like to see Nahas get more space, He rarely seems to be fully able to use his pace, he always seems "boxed in" when he gets possession.

Is not the future, have always said it. Yeah I now we have to perservere with what we have at the moment.

His best position is Chapel Sreet.

Poor game by Nahas. Still, his form leading in wasn't too shabby. Worth watching his next month for a better assessment before we turf him back to Coburg though.

Not the future as are alot of half our players on the list, but this kid would be snapped up ASAP by any of the 15 clubs...

Do you really think Betts and Yarren would offer any better if they were in the Richmond team ATM? I do not think so..

Betts and Yarran are small goalkickers with accurate kicking.

How can you be a small forward who kicks it out on the full from 15 metres out running into open goal? Unless he builds his fitness to become a small midfielder, which we have a lot of already, he's no sure thing of making it.

Contrasting to that, though, was his set shot from the opposite pocket in the second quarter. Last year Nahas would've sprayed it. This year he slotted it easy as you like.

He had a brain fade. He's not the first player ever to have one. Calls for him to be dropped for that act are a bit over the top, in my opinion...I reckon Hardwick would have had a quiet word to him after the game, and more importantly Nahas himself will look back on it and realise he could have done better.

If he keeps doing it, then he definitely should be dropped, though.

That wasn't a fault of technique though, more like a brain fade in trying to do a banana kick.

Absolutely. Those two you have mentioned would add more value to our team than Nahas & Tambling.

Nahas wont make it. Reasons why in my opinion

- Too inconstent - kicks 3 one week then 0 the next

- Too small - Not so much his height but phsyique. Wont be able to do the tough stuff in close

- Lack of possessions - If you make a career out of being a small forwrad line player, if your not kicking goals you have to be linking up through the midfield, (Much like Varcoe and Byrnes do for Geelong). Nahas does not do this. He could take note of nason who does link up well and covers alot more ground

- Lack of polish - Not really a great kick of the ball

- Lack of team play - Tries for the magical goal to often instead of sharing the ball around.

But that's not the role he has been asked to play....so therefore that point is irrelevant.
