Round 22 the lesser games

Here's the rule:

10.4 BRINGING PLAY TO AN END
10.4.1 End of Quarter
The Timekeepers shall sound the siren to signal the end of a quarter until a field Umpire or the emergency Umpire acknowledges the siren and brings play to an end, by blowing a whistle and holding both arms above their head.
10.4.2 Free Kick or Mark
If immediately before hearing the siren, a field Umpire is of the opinion that a Player should be awarded a Free Kick or a Mark, the field Umpire shall signal that play has come to an end and then award the Free Kick or Mark to the Player. A Free Kick will not be awarded where the football has been kicked and, after the field Umpire has heard the siren, lands Out of Bounds On the Full.

100% if the umpire hears the siren, the mark or free isn't awarded.
Time ends when the umpire has raised both arms above his/her head and blows their whistle, that’s how I used to do it.

Essendon winning no good, means they can’t miss? Won’t try against pies next week

Unfortunately, they can't miss, but will be knocked out 1st week.

The Clown kicks 10 as Port get done by 80+. Schizo South Australia.

Adelaide back in the 8 after being smashed by the pies - this is just one strange round.

Something is badly wrong with the water in south Aus at the moment.

I'm sure North's Thomson just said it was good to win against Port the form team of the competition. They've won 2 in their last 6...lol

King - Essendon are going to be a threat in finals

That is an old rule. It is when the umpire perceived that the siren blew.

David King's commentary is unbearable.

David kings just spent 5 minutes raving about Essendons coaching effort. Get on the dockers he’s always wrong

What’s king on? Seriously he actually said Essendon are a threat in September.
Clueless peanut.

North Melbourne should ask for 22 games at the Telstra Dome...

King back on the bombers bandwagon.

Excruciating listening, you would think a so called expert wouldn't get sucked in, Essendon only look good when they are playing teams that don't apply any pressure. Unfortunately they will be back to the normal Bombers next week and Pies will smash them.

It may not be popular to say here, but I umpired for almost 25 years albeit not at the highest standard. But you do what you can do, particularly after your playing career demonstrated you had to find another option.

Jeez, there’s some present day rule interpretations I struggle with.

While David King, well ex north champ, Richmond assistant coach and now analyst on fox.

Well, I thought he played well at north!
