I don't think many people care that much, people care sure, but if they actually cared a lot it wouldn't be in trouble. Its been on life support by a very wealthy supporter base in Sydney and Brisbane for 20 years. Endless discussion on how to save it, but people vote with their feet.

Things went downhill when the AFL started outbidding Union for NRLs big names to cross codes.
