Only apologists pull out that line to justify their player when they are playing poorlyBut I thought he was supposed to be “tired” ?

Yep, had he not touched it we would've drawn or lost again. Big things to come from Ryano.Great great contest at the end leading to Marlion’s match winner.
Post hasn't aged well.Last efforts were pathetic
We’ll agree to disagree. The lack of effort to spoil the Cadman mark was very poor.Post hasn't aged well.
Got on to post he was great in the clinches at the death. Played a key part in the desperation stakes last 5 minutes
You're saying he wasn't good in the clinches at the death? We’ll agree to disagree. The lack of effort to spoil the Cadman mark was very poor.
The kick dropped 3 metres short, caught everyone flat footed. Cadman got a bit lucky. We’ll agree to disagree. The lack of effort to spoil the Cadman mark was very poor.
The one in the first quarter was blatant. On the lead, held back, arms chopped. Play on. *smile* off.I hate to say it, but he needs to flop.
He gets held, blocked and chopped at almost every contest. Which happens when you're a 206 cm player who competes in the air.
He needs to learn how to flap his arms, and let the umps know they're infringing. It sucks to say it, but that's footy. Once he gets a couple of cheapies, he'll find it easier to take the grabs too.
Good players read the play and get to contests. The last two weeks in particular he hasn’t and even when he does, doesn’t affect the contest like a 206cm player should. The kick dropped 3 metres short, caught everyone flat footed. Cadman got a bit lucky.
He's played a dozen games. I'm prepared to cut him some slack (as a old ruckman myself). Lets see how he's tracking after 40-50 games.Good players read the play and get to contests. Even today, he only took three marks. He’s 22 & been in the system for three seasons. Fair enough he shows promise in the ruck, but I’m not sold that he’ll turn into the star we all want & need.
Like I said, agree to disagree. I’m a hard taskmaster & hope I’m wrong about him long term. But I lived every year of the 37 & no longer deal in hope.
I don’t share your confidence but we wait and see. Hope I’m wrong. He's played a dozen games. I'm prepared to cut him some slack (as a old ruckman myself). Lets see how he's tracking after 40-50 games.
He's got the tools, just needs a bit more time.
I think we all do.I don’t share your confidence but we wait and see. Hope I’m wrong.
at this moment yes. If Lynch was in the side, the opposition's third best would not beat him.I hate to say it, but he needs to flop.

I definitely agree we need to grow our own key position players. Don’t understand our recruiting over the past 3-4 years.I think we all do.
Be nice to 'grow our own' for a change.
Thats a separate argument. The debate was about Ryans effort in that particular contest. You are wrong on that, Bigwow is spot on. And that is putting aside that even if you were right, he redeemed himself.Good players read the play and get to contests.
