Don't worry, it won't happen. He's a Victorian.
Yeah. The Good Old Days.Dunno. We've had 31 Prime Ministers. 11 of those were Victorians.
We have been through some of this before . Note I was in the health system during COVID.Yeah, we aren't going to get close to agreeing. Our state was more locked down than anywhere else on the country by far , our aged care facility performed worse than anyone, our hotel quarantine was a debacle and in every inquiry old mate was less than helpful. "I don't recall" was his mantra.
I would hardly call that leading the country but you do think that's accurate. I think it's BS beyond belief.
My money is on the private sector. I reckon he wants to make some moneyPrime Minister Daniel Andrews.
Daniel Andrews, PM.
The Honourable Daniel Andrews, MP, Prime Minister of Australia.
Just rollin' it around.
Yeah, same. I was just joking. My money is on the private sector. I reckon he wants to make some money
Personal view only
So no change then?My money is on him working for the Chinese.
Don't hold me liable coz it wasn't quite right, seems it was their attorney general got busted for bullying n walked the plank. Damn rushed info n suggestions, missed it by that much. Was at a function earlier today n hearing that the Taswegian premier has chucked the toys out the cot, might just kill off their last chance at getting a billion dollar stadium built to house a Taswegian team.
We have been through some of this before . Note I was in the health system during COVID.
1. The Victorian public health system was sent into many federally run aged care facilities to bail them out. I saw aged care nurses from public hospitals in tears from what they had seen in private federal funded aged care. State run aged care had way less cases, it was the shortfalls in private aged care that was the problem.
2. Hotel quarantine issues were not caused by what we think they were. Justice Dept ran them first and as soon as the medical care was put under public hospitals the COVID breaches stopped. The investigation into it was a farce. I have no doubt many decisions were made by bureaucrats and ministers didn’t know, because it was chaos at the time. Bureaucratic decision making was the issue.
3. Public hospitals were within a bees *smile* of being overwhelmed. Down to 2-3 days of masks and PPE and it was only the lockdown that stopped it happening. If that overrun of the public system had happened lots of people would have died
The is so much selective memory on COVID. What I recall is fear and confusion because there was no rule book. There were no right and wrong decisions at the time like there is in hindsight. There were people dying all over the world, no cure, no vaccine and everyone just did the best they could. The overwhelming feeling at the time in public hospitals was the lockdowns were the only thing between where they were and total chaos.
Having worked in and around the state Public service one of the major things I learned about politicians is that they have very little influence on how well a job is done by the bureaucracy. Politicians have a major role in disrupting the bureaucracy as Departments spend way too much time gathering information and doing tasks because politicians want them done but they don't run the bureaucracy, public servants do.Bringing facts into the argument won't swing the RWNJs.
Mistakes were made, lockdown was a right pain, but it saved lives.
This is what the HUN and their cheer squad can't handle, the fact that the Andrews government was willing to take the difficult decisions and wear the consequences knowing that there were no right answers and that mistakes would happen. For that the government earned respect.
I have no problem with pointing out the mistakes, but the reality is that the response was very good in very difficult circumstances.
