The Blair "Which?" Project

It seems like a great call until you go back and see that you were agreeing with an idiotic post that hasn't stood the test of time

While half of our next VFL premiership squad was accurately predicted 2 years in advance in that post, I’ll give you Soldo in the VFL in 2019 as an idiotic call :mhihi

Said it before, I'll say it again: if someone's going to get squeezed out of Sydney it won't be Luke Parker. It could be George Hewett.

19 disposals, 13 tackles, 6 clearances today. 26 in December. Free agent. 187cm, 84kg. Can tag or just play accountable two-way footy. Apart from last year has played 21 or more games every year since his debut.

You might be able to get him for 4 x 450.

I said this on the rumour board. But we should leave no stone unturned to get Parker. By all reports both player and club are miles apart. If we are fair dinkum of challenging again we need to grab this bloke. Put a 4 year contract in front of him.

As tempting as it is Parker is a Hawthorn style short sighted decision. We need to think long term and hence Tom Green next year is a far better option. Best footy is in front of him and will cost a lot less money

Will cost us nothing in terms of draft picks. You need to attack this with all avenues - draft, trade, free agency. You can’t just rely on the one to keep challenging.

Good shout, I’m for it. Go after both he and Parker, just land one.

Major knock on George is what he does with the ball. Up and up and up and under.

But you get 120 minutes of disciplined, courageous and committed football.
He is the modern day Dan Jackson.

Agreed he gets squeezed out.

But if he comes to us he bats #5 or 6.
What we desperately need is someone to bat #2-3

Carlton bound apparently.

Yeah I agree with this.
Although we land either Taranto or Hopper, then Hewett becomes a very attractive target.
I reckon our midfield (when fit) bats like this :
1. Prestia
2. Cotchin
3. Bolton/Martin
4. Edwards
5. Lambert
6. Graham
7. Dow/Ross/RCD

Adding a gun mid is a must and I would be targeting either Hopper or Taranto. I have suspicion that Taranto's running power would be a better fit
for our system though. Hewett's workrate would be a great fit as well and would improve our defense in the centre square, something that was really ordinary in the last half of the year.

If we add to our mids with a couple of mature agers we are a genuine contender again, which is something we simply have to do while Dusty is on the list.

Blues apparently mentioned in dispatches relating to George...................go figure surely they cant afford both he and Cerra.

Our window is still wide open. Not sure why people are afraid of getting a player in the class of Parker. He is 29 not 39.
I assume the critics didn’t see his game yesterday.
