What a joke, you want howlers, just spend 5 minutes at the footy and you will see heaps of them.

That free was nothing compared to the ARC decision in our EF, not even close.

F*cking moron.

It’s not semantics at all big fella, you blamed the Richmond medical team for not stopping the game and they don’t have the authority to.

So the umpires don’t have any discretion to stop the play based on what they see in front of them? They can only do it when the emergency umpire tells them to?

Again semantics, of course the umpires can stop the game if they choose to but there is a clear procedure as to how it happens if a player is seriously injured and it requires the medical team to initiate it.

In the case where a trainer is attending an injured player and doesn't signal for the game to stop, the umpires are logically going to assume the player is ok and will resume playing in a moment or two, which is what happens in the vast majority of cases.

Right, cheers. So the umpires, when Prestia had 3 medical staff attending to him as he lay concussed, and the ball is pinging around them, didn’t have the nous to stop the game because a trainer didn’t hold his arms up in a cross, they only held one arm up. And the game had stopped 4 times for ball ups and free kicks.

oh and let’s not forget one of the umpires reported Stewart for his hit on Dion so he certainly knew of the situation.

This makes perfect logic.

Suggest you go and watch it again like I just did, 21 min mark of the replay. The ball is in his vicinity for two kicks that end in uncontested marks, there's never any danger of the ball going to him. If there was a contest and the ball ended up on the ground then yes, they could have stopped the game. That wouldn't have changed the issue with the goal because as soon as he was walked out of the vicinity the game would have started again.

Also confirmed the trainer puts a single hand up to signal for the bench, which is the signal to get the doctor or physio to come out. When you look at the initial work done with Prestia I think the theory the first trainer is not a medically trained person is pretty strong.

I’m assuming old Robbo hasn’t watched Tommy Hawkins in a while…

Open your eyes Robbo Hawkins does it every day.
Robbo go and see how Soldo does his knee??
Collingwood got some nice calls during the game too.
And for the 2018 GF if Kennedy, Masten & Darling kicked straight the margin shouldve been 5 goals.
And let's not get the facts hit you in the head,,they lead an interstate team with a horrible record at the G by 5 goals and still lost.
A Ryan block didn't change the outcome

The trainer may have been a bit busy checking on Dion, which was well behind the play. Surely his first priority is the welfare of the player not signalling one of the 3 umps on the field?

And then when Dion was lying prostrate on the ground and the ball was coming back to his vicinity one of the said 3 umps might have thought it appropriate to stop the play? IIRC we received a free? So the ump who paid the free was aware he had been hit late and was downed? Perhaps he should have given a quick glance 10 seconds later, note he had not moved, and note the trainer was stabilising his head/neck. At that point he should have stopped the game in the best interests of Prestia's welfare.

Jumped in the car earlier and heard the tail end of a call from some tragic Pies' fan (Renee?) complaining about Swans fans ragging on DeGoey!! Oh the irony :rotfl2 :rotfl2 :rotfl1 :rotfl1

Tyler and Callum Brown delisted from Collingwood, classic case of drafting based on your fathers name, 2 bland (ex) AFL footballers.
