Thats how i got drafted to the Richmond cheer Squad in 1982.
I was born in Australia but my parents came by boat.
It was under the Cheer Squad Academy scheme.
I grew up on Burnley st. So Richmond took me.
One more kilometre to the east, i would've been under the Glenferrie rd end academy.
I heard in real time from a high ranking source (albiet part of the extreme bucks hating faction),
That our Tom was on the verge of signing with collingwood when Bucks completely blew his trust
I heard the total opposite.
He was always pulled towards coming to us, but held meetings with Collingwood because his manager was keen to see what there offer was.

That’s what I had heard that he was going to chose the Pies and us with the Hawks were (second choices).
Bucks stuffed it up by betraying his trust.
If my memory is correct he actually ( Bucks ) confirmed they met on tv. Not sure which show or whether he was interviewed by a reporter ( eve of the 18 ) finals series ? which I think caused Tommy some grief and angered GC ...

Pies list managers, Ed, Buckley etc. copping plenty but with Treliar I reckon the truth will be somewhere in the middle.

Wife heading to Qld sewed a seed of doubt towards his long term commitment given the Pies shopped him to GC last year.
Pies have been silent to make sure the trade goes ahead.

I don't know how Collingwood could entice a big free agent 12 months on from showing every listed player how rubbery a big contract is with them. Treloar has even more reasons to be banging his head against a wall over his decision to select them over us.
He gave up premierships and the opportunity to be at a club which genuinely respects it's playing list, for one that treats it's list horribly. Ironically, Neil Balme seems to the the catalyst in guiding our club on player relations when dealing with contracts. It looks like the Pies learned nothing from his time with them,

Tigers winning three premierships, having the best culture of all clubs, off field we're showing leadership and living what we speak. After 30+ years of being *smile*, that alone is remarkable.
The fact Essendon and Collingwood are self destructing like a 1990s tiger outfit, is the ice cream, cream, sprinkles and cherry on top.

Pretty sure Geelol won all three of their flags while Balmey was there. We've won three flags n perhaps more while Balmey's been here.
The outlier on Balmey's admin, he's had two stints at Colonwood n been shafted by them twice. During that time, three lost Grannies, nil flags for Colonwood plus after he's been pushed out first time Eddie n Figgy have managed to initially shaft MnM then this time shaft half their players. Obvious Eddie n Figgy can't handle having someone rational, logical n calming keeping things nice n smooth with egos kept fully in check.
