Perfecto - I think that gives us a slight added advantage over the weagles - assuming no extra casualties from tonight’s game.

Just announced. The game has been brought forward to next Sunday

Downside is we have to fly back to Sydney and back to Perth again it is not like we are staying in WA. Not sure why WA would have to confine us to hotel when our plyers have been out of Melbourne for some time.

must have left some bags back in Sydney and need to collect them - only reason I can think of.

Nice snapshot of the perceived bias in the AFL on this one.

Richmond post on Facebook full of comments saying they have screwed us because we have to return to Sydney.

All other media outlets posts full of people saying the AFL have favoured us with fixturing yet again, as the league's love child.

Hard to win. :rotfl2

Well imagine a life before COVID - to play two successive games in Perth and forced to fly from the east into Perth two weeks in a row sounds a bit on the tough side one would have thought...... from memory no difference flying from Melb or Syd to Perth.

These COVID rules are a bit weird on the surface - a simple COVID test should do the trick i would have thought - rules gone mad.

Yep. Gone from "the AFL will never move the game because they want to screw us up" to "they moved the game, couldn't do otherwise really but they still hate us" to "it's the AFL's fault about the Covid rules in WA so they shouldn't have bothered to move it, in fact they did all this just to screw with us".

*facepalm*

Problem is the test takes a day to run. There are also a small number of false negatives. So you need quarantine time to ensure a negative doesn't become a positive after a day or two.

Really only made sense if Richmond stayed there and Eagles flew home straight after Carlton game

To be fair the posters supporting bringing the wce game forward a week would have reasonably assumed that the team would remain in Perth for the week and not fly back to back.
That sort of fixturing is not common practice for Freo or WCE.
It might be due to the circumstances but its a surprise and not ideal.
So understandable that supporters views have changed

Sure, but every single twist and turn is blamed on the AFL.

They may as well have brought the game forward, but played it in Sydney. That way WCE stay put and we fly back to Sydney which we’re going to anyway.

If the Bummers were allowed to stay in WA for a week, why can't we. Unless it's our call to go back to NSW.
