Tyler Sonsie

You’re right we’ll never know. Yze is the third AFL coach who knows he’s not good enough. There won’t be a 4th.

He's got a choice out of he and Dow. Dow cannot play another position, Sonsie can (albeit badly). Theres your decision right there.

Sonsie can play. Go watch a VFL game and you’ll see.

He can play alright. Oozes talent. But he’s a cat. He’s also not a team player. He’s immature. He’s dishonest.

Coaches clearly don’t trust him.

No matter what position you play show effort, get involved and do the basics he doesn't.

He’d be worse.
Would we lose by 90 points instead of 80?

Seriously though, you might be right.

But what is the point of this year if we don't try it? Genuinely, what is the down side of giving him an extended run in the centre?

He is improving as a mid at VFL level. He is above the level, really. Literally the words of our VFL coach. We literally don't know if he would perform at the AFL level there. We do know that our midfield can't get much worse.

Also if you are going to play him wing/half forward in the AFL, that's the position he should be playing in the VFL.

I come back to this a lot, but as a teacher, I would never have students practice one skill for weeks in class, then get to the exam and say to them as they're walking in, 'Actually, forget all that. Try this other skill instead.'

Been watching footy for a lot of years n I don't think I've ever seen another player anywhere as insipid and irrelevant as this bloke.
Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle up and down the ground. Avoiding the contests and the opposition players, lurking in space hoping the ball might actually spill out into the open space around him. Or that a team mate might find him standing around picking his date n pass him the ball. On the odd occasion that he does somehow receive a ball, he more often than not overplays his possession n does bugger all with it. Somewhere between 1 and 3 half decent possessions per game is laughable at AFL level. Watched more of him than I want to n hoping young K Mac 2 replaces him next week.
