Where did I mention the 2021 draft?

Anyway, to expand on what I meant. Sonsie needs to show midfield traits at AFL level before he’ll get a chance to play there. That means hunting the ball, taking body contact regularly, tackling and repeat efforts. He can show these attributes regardless of where the coaches put him but to date hasn’t.

He’s regularly played well in the VFL over the years but it’s largely irrelevant now unless he can lift himself to the next level.

Has Sonsie played in he AFL as a mid-fielder?

He's been listed on the RFC in todays Team Selection as such.

Here's hoping he plays that position and shows where he's at in that role.

Can't be any worse than the rabble in there last week!
 
You can say what you like about Sonsie's ability.

But he has been poorly managed. There's no inside knowledge, no team structure, no development excuses that make sense here.

Every time he has a great game in the mid in VFL he comes in as a half forward in the AFL.

It is objectively terrible management.

Absolutely. I’d be looking elsewhere if I was him at the end of the year.

Playing for the free 15m from the oppo goal, FMD.

You could mount a case based on the pure numbers but geez some of his efforts are so conditional. Just a coach killer which is why I reckon he’s never achieved continuity despite obvious talent.
