Yep, but that's only 25% game time. The other 75% was a fair bit of yeah nah what do people see in him.He did have a good last quarter.

True but I liked that he lifted with the game there to win. Focus on that into next week.Yep, but that's only 25% game time. The other 75% was a fair bit of yeah nah what do people see in him.
Certainly will be, more than happy for Arthur to put in some big four qtr games at magoos level and demand a run back in the senior side before the season ends.True but I liked that he lifted with the game there to win. Focus on that into next week.
If he's going to make it, he'll probably end up more of a high half forward type.Arthur's not in any way shape or form a centre bounce mid. Game after game when he's in there he sags off while the ball is still rising off the bounce and gives his direct opponent a free passport to an uncontested clearance.
Hasn't been the worst.
Shai has certainly not excelled defensively in his career, but he has a lot more tricks than Sonsie. As someone else said. Shai did this initially but holding him in the VFL and pushing that team first mindset changed his mentality and he has excelled since then.
The coaches would have made him totally aware of what is holding him back for the past 18 months. What worries me is that he appears to be ignoring them or is simply never going to change his ways.Thats a pretty low bar though isn't. You say he wasn't the worst in a VFL game, you are right, but hardly saying pick me at AFL level. He was ok today, good when the game was on the line, but his defensive effort still is not where it needs to be. Its as simple as this, watch his footsteps when he is running defensively versus offensively. Much bigger strides when offensive and he sees he can get the ball.

There are not really any doubts over Sonsies skills, but does he have the workrate and defensive intent? Only time will tell
You’re spot on.If he's going to make it, he'll probably end up more of a high half forward type.
Geez. That's drawing a fairly long bow. Right now I'd be very happy if Arthur reaches a Jack Ross level. He's never going to be a Matt Rowell.
Can you please tell me what a dunny budgie is? We only have giant green frogs in ours.Watched most of today's magoos game, had to do *smile* for a bit n missed most of the second qtr. So far this season when I've watched Arthur's magoos games there's been plenty that I haven't liked about his game and have said so more than once.
Today's game he got stuck in at the start and I thought to myself, lookout he's on here this will be interesting. That lasted for about five or six minutes and he went back to his usual reading of the play before it actually happened and sagging off to purely outside spectator scabbing up some cheap crap. What I saw of the second qtr and plenty of the third was simply more n more of Arthur playing at hovering dunny budgie.
Reckon he musta got some kinda ferocious arse reaming off the coach at three qtr time because all of a sudden he started to join in with a bunch of his team mates and put in some effort, intent and bloody contest for the last qtr and actually contributed.
Bloke " can " play footy when he pulls his finger out of his arse and has an honest physical dip at the game. But by hell I wish he'd bloody do it a bit more often than maybe
