Welcome to Tigerland Liam Fawcett -: pick 43 2023

Agree. Best to listen to on that stupid station.
Liam's answer to one question prompts me of a book I read years ago. In brief: a traveller walks near the castle gate, sees an object that was thrown from the castle gate. He catches it and realises it's a head with a king's crown. He now becomes the country's new king, but only for 12 months, then the whole process is re inacted again. So.... what does this new king do, he has sex daily, drinks alot and sleep. after 6 mths, he finally realises time is slipping bye and he has not achieved anything. He makes a promise to himself. I want to be the best in everything. He employs all top of their field people and becomes a great actor, great magician, great swordman, great lover (employed a woman for this), etc. With all of these new qualities, he manages to slip out of the castle and become a free man, but a better man.
Liam was asked who does he model himself after? No one in particular, I just take one important part of each of these players (Tex, Hawkins, etc) and use their qualities in my game development. I say Long live the King!

Dwayne cops a bit of stick on here-but I thought that was a great interview. Sounds like a fantastic kid.
Think Dwayne had a bit of affinity with him as they were talking about Pooraka FC which is Russell's original club.

He did say he had grown 10 cm in the last 2 years which I assume means he wasn’t necessarily a KPP before that.
Not sure that is a good thing or not ?

Its a fair amount of growth!
He's hoping to keep growing too.
At 197cm he's got the height, lets see if he can work hard enough to make it

Isn't being a great swordsman and a great lover the same thing?
Anyway, for those who want to know how the story ends, I lived happily ever after :sneaky:

197cm is about perfect key position size imo. Any taller they seem to have ongoing injury concerns.

Beautiful height. He is mobile and he marks at the highest point.
That's all need. Development is now the next step.
We have added Kosi and this kid who can take reliving/down the line kicks.
Tottaly different strategy to Hardwicks.
I like it.

Nice quote from Matt Clarke shown in the HUN today -

LIAM FAWCETT (Key fwd) “In round 1 this year, our Perth-based scout and I went to Adelaide. He went to Centrals to watch Fawcett, while I was tracking a young boy named Matt Coulthard at a different ground for the mid-season draft. The cameraman didn’t turn up to Liam Fawcett’s standout game, where he had 14 marks and six or seven contested. (The scout) rang me and said, ‘Mate, he is dominating this game and there’s no cameraman. He was sick and didn’t turn up’. A number of clubs saw it, but probably five or six full timers. Everyone talks about the great game he played that there’s no vision of.”

The first 20m of Usain Bolts 9.69 second 100m run at the 2008 Olympic Games was in 2.87 seconds

Liam Fawcett - Majors, aka The Six Million Dollar Man

I did find a 2.98 for him, so I'll give you that the 9 and 0 keys are next to one another :D
That’s impressive stat work

So do we call this kid usain? Bolt? Or flash?

Usain's 20m splits for the hundred were

0-20 - 2.87 seconds
21-40 - 1.75
41-60 - 1.67
61-80 - 1.61
81-100 - 1.66

Don't think any AFL footballers drop a second plus and hold it like that after 20 metres aye

I don't know what's wrong with The Six Million Dollar Man if he makes it 😁
