My top 5 in no particular order

Phil Dunphy is a fabulous character, brilliantly acted in Modern Family
Martin Crane was grumpily great in Frasier
Frank Costanza sets the bar for dad insanity in Seinfeld
George Bluth Snr lives up to the show title in Arrested Development
Frank Barone deserves a mention in Everybody Loves Raymond

Arthur Spooner... one of the most underrated characters of all time!

Jerry Stiller has a mortgage on the outrageous father of recent times, both Arthur Spooner & Frank Costanza.

Subject topical again with passing of Alan Thicke.

Given time of year, thought I'd revisit this.
Watching Everybody Loves Raymond, and impressed with the work of Peter Boyle as Frank Barone.
