Welcome to the Tigers - Daniel Rioli

Was pretty poor today, not playing on instinct. Clearly playing with no confidence at all. Either side of quarter time were a perfect example, slowed the game down and then high floaty kicks with no real direction.

Had an absolute mare. Reckon it’s the worst I’ve ever seen him play. He looks slow in all facets. Slow in the mind, slow by hand, slow by foot. His decision making and execution was terrible. That mark he had on the wing just before quarter time a prime example. Had a free team mate 20 metres further on but didn’t go. Stood there for at least 10 seconds looking indecisive. Then just booted it straight up in the air giving Lynch no chance and McGovern took an easy uncontested mark. Just shithouse play.

He’s getting his spot by reputation at the moment.

Don’t know what to do with him at this stage of the year. You can’t drop him for butler. Stack is out for the year. He’s really out of form, fumbling, poor decision making

Summed it up exactly as it happened. Symptomatic of the way he is playing. Is losing one on one contests regularly. Riolis are play makers. They don't need many disposals but they need to be exciting and dangerous. Berift of confidence.

Low on confidence? Absolutely. Could’ve been dropped twice in the past six weeks.

But I dunno, he seemed to regain some spark in the second half.

I’m tipping a return to form against the bears.

Thought he really put in today and made a contest of everything. Close to having a big one

At least the effort is now there. Just needs to be more instinctive now & back himself. A lot of almost moments today. Rather keep persevering with him than Aarts (too late to try now) or going bigger (eg Townsend). Focus on manic chasing & tackling and back him in. Other previous options like Stack & Higgins are ruled out by injury while Butler no longer good enough.

I was at the game and then came home and watched the replay. Don’t understand the criticism. I thought he was just fine. Worked hard and involved in many contests.

More than adequate

I reckon Danny is still out form.

but today he was out of form in a septembery, fast, tough kind of way.

This is true. He's not playing up to expectations but not sure I would trust anyone to replace him coming into finals
But in recent weeks the popular "cannot be dropped" types have been dispatched to the seconds.
Seems to be in two minds almost evety play. Early in third he received in centre square, his best option would have been to play on immediately , run to edge of square and kick to open goal. Instead hestited, propped and served up a lame ball into forward 50. 8 weeks ago I said drop, then he improved week to week so I said stay in but last two weeks has declined again. Is he unique enough? Does he have credits? Tough call.

I didn't see the game today missed it all the highs and lows and horrors and joy.

But if Rioli went as bad as many are saying today he needs to move back in under the auspices of Mrs Hardwick.

Too much shagging not enough Testosterone for the game.

Get Off the Nest Daniel FFS shes not going anywhere, and if she does she aint worth it.

RFC right now is more important.

Riolis are born to dominate finals and win Grand Finals, get your arse into gear Sonny Jim.

Who replaces him? Butler? No thanks. Aarts? Not now, can't trust him.
