But in a powerful side, he's dreadful
He’s in the team to provide attacking play out of the backline. The problem is you need to be able to hit targets in that role. He can’t even get the ball to spin properly; nearly every kick is a helicopter mongrel.
He’s a butcher and I fear will cost us big time in the pressure of finals. Just not sure who we replace him with in that role. Geez I wish Stackman was fit

No, what you continue to fail to see is that Short releases Houli and makes the backline so much better as a whole.
Is he playing to his strengths at the moment? No.
Do we have anyone who can replace him? Maybe next year, but I’m hoping he can have a great finals series.

Just making a counter argument, as the Short hate is hyperbolic.
All teams, especially the very good ones, cover for players out of form because they make the side structurally sound.
Short is in bad form. Just like one or two others in the team who we’re hoping can come good cos there’s no better replacements right now.
Stack is injured and Egg isn’t ready. If Short can improve in Brisbane we’re an even better team.

The selection committee have been pretty aggressive this year Easy, so I suppose he could get dropped. But it’d be a big call before a QF.
I reckon the backline is judged as a whole at the end of the day.
And that says we kept Brisbane to 58 points and shots at goal from the boundary line.
Shorty plays his part in that.
He was putrid today Baron. I’ve never been a Short hater but right now I really don’t like him in the team. Just can’t trust him at the moment.
