So with the form of the team currently, dimma manages to get dusty to kick 6. Pretty good effort really.
The effect for the next games is an enormous win for us 2 weeks out i think.
He has now got teams thinking of another strategically significant threat.
Tag Dusty hard and we will get him to beat you with goals, not by just resting him forward or short stints but by being the forward line.
Will it invoke personnel changes or game plan tweeks by our rivals? I really hope so.
Go tiges.

I was lucky enough to live all of our dream and be invited into the rooms after the 2017 win.

At one point I came face to face with Hardwick over a beer and in the course of the chat mentioned I would've sacked him.

He replied, I probably would have as well.

Top bloke.

Yes you were a one man sack Hardwick band especially over on YnB

Yep and to be honest I still feel sacking him prior to 2017 would have been the right thing to do.

Very happy to have him now but if he doesn't win the flag this year then we will have underachieved and the question of if we would have been better served by a different coach will be live again.

Very tough business footy.

Wow. That's a big call, BR. Dimma can only do so much. He's certainly guided and mentored and had a huge influence over these young men in so many ways, yet he can't kick the goals or lay the tackles etc. The players do love and respect him and what he has taught them about being men, Richmond Men, and how to conduct themselves in everyday life.
Even if we don't win this year's flag (and that's not gonna happen in my book) we might have underachieved, but it doesn't mean we haven't been a successful and thriving club.
Reckon the way he has helped turn RFC around in so many ways (along with Gale, O'Neill, Balme and a few others) is worthy of the greatest credit. I shall forever pay homage to Dimma for the joy that he has enabled this old Tiger to experience these past few years.
Plus, I believe he is the sort of individual who will know when it's time to walk from the job when the time (eventually) comes. And he will do so with his head held high and with the greatest admiration of many many Richmond supporters.

Difference between Hardwick and Buckley in the last 24 hours couldn’t be more stark.

Hardwick, who has learned the true value of connection, said he is proud of our boys’ efforts in 2019 no matter what happens.

Buckley, who has learned the manipulative value of connection, couldn’t resist telling his players 2019 was a wasted season.

I know which coach is keep giving an extra 5% for.

There's more differences BS, but well said. Figgy's just a plastic coach.

Hardwick ‘Judy dolled’ Scott last night.
The move of Lynch into the forward line.. brilliant
The move of grimes into the defence was just brilliant.

Scott wasn’t up to it.

One of the really impressive things about Hardwick.....

When he was talking about Graham, he said something like "I don't know what the future holds, but in the history of OUR club....."

I've heard other coaches say this club, or the club. Hardwick is one of us. It's a small thing, but is a reflection of the environment that we have.

It always surprised or bemused me that when Wallace was coach, he always referred to the club or team as "they"

he should’ve done a drive by with Scott on Friday night,
‘Hows Scotty going?”
“Does Scotty think we are still better last year?”
“Geelong are a good side but we are a great side”
“Where not playing the Grand final at GHMBA stadium next week?”
“Chris has been there a while”

We would have all loved him to zips, but sometimes silence can be deafening.

Did Buckley really say that? Wow, really shows he just pays lip service to the emotional connection part of what we do.

"The overwhelming feeling for me is what a waste for the year, unfortunately," Buckley said.
"In the end, this is what we do. Our season’s over. This is going to be the hardest week of our life, watching what’s going to take place in the next seven days. There’s no coming back. A click of the fingers and that’s over. We didn’t make the most of our moment.

"Next week's going to be pretty hard. You don't have a God-given right to get there. We had a strong year, and in many ways it was stronger than last year but we fall two steps short of where we ultimately want to be."

Then compare to Dimma's speech at last year's Jack Dyer medal: we are disappointed, we will come back, we will play entertaining football, we will be competitive. Dealt with the disappointment, I'm pretty sure he paid tribute to the players and their achievements of making the last 4 and ending the season on top, and then talked up the future.

Chalk and Cheese.

Dimma deserves a second flag and so does the playing group and the Administration, Benny, Peg, Balmey etc.

He deserves to be a two time premiership coach. Where he took us from, to where we are now, is a magnificent achievement.

Spot on, Toby
Dimma is a Richmond Man through and through.
As a two-time premiership coach he will be launched into the pantheon of Richmond legends ... coach of the team of the century
