If Rantall was an elite kick would he go top 10?

Jobe Watson was a horrific kick early but ended up being a very good one.

We are going to do a live pick trade and get out of our pick 19 is my feeling, not sure what for,
Think this is a real chance.
I have heard Neil Balme and now Matt Clarke suggest this as a possibility.

Very good chance Cats trade up into the top 10-12 range imo

I would actually consider #19+2020 1st rounder for the crows #22+#23
We would still get Cooper Stephens + another maybe a Jones/De Koning/Rivers

If the key position players: Worrell, Jones & De Koning are all taken ahead of our pick then I suspect we'll consider trading down

eg) Kangas x2 picks (29 & 30) for 22 and 42. The talent drops off at 32 on my rankings.

If Kemp happens to drop to Ports 2nd pick (likely 18) then I reckon we'll throw a fair bit at them to get that pick. Hartley and Clark are mates with them and that was likely reinforced after the Cripps emergency in Perth so hopefully Port will be open to it.

Why the no love for Stephens?

He is very similar to Ross. A good player, hard at it, honest as the day is long but lacks a little polish. Thomas Dow is one in particular that is not as mature physically but has a little more class and upside in my view.

Looks like I'm hoping against hope that De Koning gets through to us. Stephens would be a good get, bit of Joel Corey about him. I was hoping Schoenberg and/or Ralphsmith might make it to one of our second-rounders. No Jeremy Sharp in that top-30, surely he couldn't fall to our next pick? That would be a steal. Brock Smith would be good value at one of those picks as a Vlastuin understudy, ditto Flynn Perez, and Hilder too as a next-gen key back. Riley Garcia with a late pick would be very Richmondy, underrated I reckon.

But I'm going off scant vision. The AFL has really dropped the ball with its draft coverage, with only a minute or so of vision on each kid. And that's on top of the farce of spreading the draft out over two nights. It's gobsmacking how incompetent and tin-eared these inbred old school tie *smile* are.

Another fascinating one for a late pick is Brady Rowles. Has it all athletically, a real burst of pace, but low numbers in the NAB League. His vertical leap improved 22cm from pre-season to combine, where he leapt 98cm. At 188cm and 72kg, looks a late developer. Worth a speculative pick.

By all reports we are going to try and get another pick, probably somewhere early second round. Might mean we have to sacrifice either this years first or next years.

You are seriously underselling Ross.

Clarke also hinted that 38-40 etc are picks we are looking to upgrade with too.

He also said everyone is playing their cards close to their chest. I'd say so is Clarke.

If Stephens is another Ross (taller and heavier) I'm all for it.

Into how the most powerful, progressive and successful footy club in the world

Got that talent into richmond jumpers.
