Since the squads are to be announced today.... thought I'd start a dedicated thread.

Looks like we're going to have plenty of representation so if the rumours are correct I'll go with the following. ...

Victoria. ..... Dusty, Cotchin, Lynch and Grimes
AllStars. .... Riewoldt and Edwards

Hard to put aside my bias, but I reckon if Cotchin's in the team he should be named captain, as the reigning premiership one, opposite to Fyfe who'll possibly get the nod and being the current Brownlow Medallist they can sell it to the haters that way!

Yeah ya right there @caesar and with the pies apparently having 5 involved it'll make for some pretty interesting matchups...... our youth v their youth.

True, but we have done waaaay!! less matchplay than other clubs this preseason that is why I think it is a bonus we can have a few more players actually playing matches.

Think it’s a great fundraiser, however imho state of origin means sfa in today’s footy , obviously injuries can happen at anytime , however don’t want to risk our players in this novelty when they could be getting game time with there young teammates

The one thing I'm jealous of the NRL for is the passion that they have over SOO matches. I'd love to see that back in the AFL.

Imagine watching Victoria's best 22 players play with intent for something that mattered. It would be something to behold.

When is the AFLX being played? The next big thing in Aussie Rules that the whole world will be playing.

At least I wasn't concerned about injuries in AFLX as there was nil contact and less running. Will be interesting to see how invested the players are for the Origin game. I hope they aren't and treat it just like the charity game it is.
